Hi. I received the Z Fold 2 by pre-order, but there is no support for eSIM. What to do?

Hope you're okay. Have you got in touch with the supporting Network provider to arrange an e-sim for your phone?

Of course, but in the settings of smartphore there is no way to scan the eSIM card code.

That's odd, @Shalva77. Which Network provider have you registered your 5G plan with? Is 5G available in your area? Also, please check the following to ensure this is set up correctly: Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > Network mode > 5G/4G/3G/2G(auto connect).

I have the same situation here. No "SIM card manager" in the Connections menu, so there is no way to scan an eSIM QR code sent by any network provider. The phone specs listed online clearly state that eSIM is supported, and there are two IMEI numbers on the box, so clearly it should support eSIM and dual SIM. Should we expect a software update to enable the menu option?

On the phone support line, Samsung suggested that EE don't list it as being a supported device, but that's irrelevant if I can't even scan the eSIM!

Also, disappointing that Smasung advertise the 0333 000 0333 support number as a "Galaxy Z Concierge"  24/7 line. It's written there on the Premier Service card that comes with the phone, and yet it is neither 24 hours or dedicated to Galaxy Z phones...

I asked about this in a store and the helpful advisor told me that at launch, it won't support eSim but it will get an update at some point to allow it too. I need dual sim for my business too, but can survive a few weeks by setting call forward.

Cheers Seemo! I can confirm that according to the brief we've just received that an upcoming software update has a patch in it that resolves the issue. No dates on that update, and the roll-out will differ by country/region, but we've been assured it's coming.

 

@Esoqq , Thanks for letting us know about that Concierge 24/7 service being on the enclosed Premier Service card. I've flagged that at the Samsung end. :thumbs-up-sign-emoji-modifier-fitzpatrick-type:

Thanks for sharing that - it's very useful information. I tried to speak with someone at the London Samsung store but the queue for customer services was too long, and the assistant that I spoke with on the Galaxy Z Concierge phone line hadn't heard of a Galaxy Z Fold 2 before 😐
