Has anyone had the hinge cable replaced at a private repair centre and if so please could you give me an idea of the cost. Thank you

This is something you need to get a quote for.
Personally I'd recommend Samsung repair agent. I know it would cost a little bit more. But you'd know the work will be done properly with genuine new Samsung parts.
Work will have a warranty aa well

But best to do your homework on third party repairers.
Sometimes cheapest is not the best

£340 is regardless as the front screen has to come off, but like @Glenntech says do it properly, as you might save a few bob short term.

That said LikeWize repair the official Samsung repaired damaged my ZFOLD4 repair twice, had to get Barclaycard to do a charge back, allot of headache chasing, but sorted.

Official UK ones will collect, depending on location even doorstep repairs.

You can sent the phone off.
Doesn't normally take very long and they will let you know what needs doing
Will more than likely be a new battery as well
Possibly a new screen if needed
But they would be better to advise

Just be careful if you get a third party to fo it.
Some places can cause more problems than it's worth
