Hi. Ive got an unusual problem with flip 3 screen. Can't find anything similar. After removing protective film (it lifted up on hinge) upper half of screen became like with green filter but light pressing or even better scratching light with fingernail worked like scratching a scratchcard removing green literally line after line. Now everything seems working. Is the screen damaged? What could cause it? Had anyone experienced anything similar ?

Hi and Welcome.

Flip screens can be a bit fiddly due to moving parts.
I would suggest if in doubt take to your nearest Samsung repair and get it checked.

Hi! Welcome to the Samsung Members community.

The Z Flip series uses a complex, layered display. It's possible that removing the protective film caused some delamination or separation within these layers. The "green filter" effect could have resulted from a specific layer being disturbed.

The scratching action might have temporarily realigned or removed the displaced material, hence the apparent "fix."

The bad news—using the word "fix" loosely—the problem will likely return. I would recommend either upgrading or sending it for proper repair.

You weren't scratching off the green; you were pushing the layers back together. *Refer to my original comment.

You're welcome!

It's not the most ideal answer, sorry to hear that, but yes—an upgrade may be worth it.

Be sure to mark it as resolved for other people in the future searching for a similar answer, as you mentioned you couldn't find anything online. The three dots next to the solution…
