Z Flip 3 main screen malfunctioning - bug?

I've had my Z flip 3 for about three weeks now and I've encountered a strange bug, or i hope it's a bug. Main screen will sometimes malfunction while you either open or close the handset. Less of a problem when closed, but if the malfunctioning happens while opening. Screen won't turn on until you close the phone again or just wait it out for it to"refresh"? I've already got a replacement (i hope so...), which has the exact same problem as the first. Some good answers?

So I've had this issue for months. I've tired everything listed on this forum and I've had zero luck. I was hesitant to send it into samsung because i have a small ding on the outside of the phone and I removed the stock screen protector trying to figure out if that was the issue. Well I finally said screw it and sent it into samsung 5 days ago. I just got a notification that they replaced the lcd under warranty and are sending it back. My advice would be to buy a cheap NEW phone from amazon before you send in your flip 3 to samsung. Then just return the cheap phone to amazon when you get your flip 3 back, amazon always take returns of new phones.

Same issue here. Phone was perfect since last August but suddenly getting this screen issue. Installed latest system update on Sunday, obviously related. Have tried everything including a factory reset. Absolutely livid.

I sent mine in to samsung and they ended up replacing the screen and battery for free.  Said it was something to do with a update that screwed the system up as far as the screen constantly turning off.  The crack in the fold was just a bad screen.

I'm sending mine to Samsun tomorrow, was told to leave the phone for them, likely to replace the screen. no more new replacement

I got my phone back from samsung today and it literally took like 2 minutes to realize the problem is still there. This is after they supposedly replaced the screen. This is seriously so lame. I'm done with samsung, this is a horrible product

I'm also going through a same problem. When I Unfold my Z Flip It Goes Yellowish And Than Black Screen, And After Refolding and unfold then it works and suddenly it goes black again. And I've to press power btn, after AOD Shows It Then Get Refreshed. Do You Have Any Fix About It?

I'm done with Samsung and Flip 3. This is obviously a poor design or production. I've had my unit in a workshop, where they visually checked the phone and decided I'm not getting a replacement due to mechanical damage. They didn't not show me where the damage on the case even is. So even though it's a known issue, they will obviously do anything to avoid replacing a screen under warranty. Which is a great business idea, because either I pay 400 eur for repair or I have to toss the phone which was 1100 eur. Not an easy choice. Since I believe if I pay the repair, it will happen again (coz it's not my fault), I refuse to keep repairing it. So, hopefully someone will buy it like this for a 100 bucks or so. 
Too bad, I actually like the flip idea because it's practical having smaller item in your pocket.

Hi guys,I think I found the solution. It's software update causes the issue. I went to Settings -> Applications -> OneUI then choose 3 dots on top right, select uninstall updates. After that screen will works perfectly fine

Thanks.  This helped a little but did not completely eliminate the issue.  BUT, I am pleased that it may look the the problem is a software issue and not a hardware issue where the screen or some other component has to be replaced.
