Test Driving The Z Fold 6 Part A- First Impressions

Delighted at having the opportunity to product test the latest Foldable Device, should be an adventure 😃. I have not had a Fold before and whilst previously would not have been my first choice can see the attraction with the innovative features and the sheer flexibility of The Device.   The option of using it as a compact  Device  or more of a Tablet experience.  The Fold 6 measures 6.04 by 2.68 by 0.48 inches (HWD) and is shorter, wider and  lighter than its predecessor  which is a good combination.   The attraction of being portable and versatile, can explore all of the functions  in a variety of ways.   The new hinge is definitely a plus making it more dureable,  know there has been hesitancy in some quarters  and initial experience would entice me more  than I would have possibly realised.  Just a short post at the moment but there will be more in due course. 

Been experimenting a bit and getting to know the delights in store, certainly a lot of Advanced AI. to benefit from.

Tried one yesterday in store and I was mesmerised with the quality of the inner display.

I see a use case still for the smaller outer... especially for typing a quick message (like this for example) or handling a quick teams message at work... making a phone call etc. I expect I would use at work closed, until I was making meeting minutes or attending a teams video call on my phone... in which case the full display comes into action. The fact that I could attend a teams call and see attendees and a presentation reasonably on the display is a real bonus to my work balance.

I also like the idea of having a home screen on the outer display that contains all those quick icons for single display use... and then on the inner having a different home screen for the contents of video, reading, Web browsing etc.

The ability to have a different homescreen content to suit each of the screens is a good feature.

I sit and type this on my S23 ultra and which remains a top end phone which I am still extremely happy with. So every day I have a battle between brain and heart... shall I... should I not. 😂

Maybe one day during a weak moment my heart will win... but at the moment my brain is staying strong... 'why spend £1800 when you have a great top end phone already' 🙃

Both my kids told me yesterday that i was a 'spoilt gadget freak with more money than sense' 😂 😂 😂

I don't know about the money thing... but maybe there is some truth there 🤔 😂

Can see how you will have been tempted but would be bit of an outlay. Yes the inner screen has its uses ,can depend on sittuation at the time. The versatility, /flexibility is a key advantage. With tech heart can overrule Head but at times you may need to be more objective 😉

Its a beauty but know what you mean about spending that kinda money for a few bells and whistles. Has any of the ai features kicked in or is it at the point where it is not fully native and more user instigated

They are both adults as well... 21 and 19. So I guess they have a little more intuition than a child age 😂😂

However they both agreed the fold 6 looked like a gorgeous phone.

I guess my other issue is that 'naked' the fold 6 phone looks fantastic. However as soon as you slap a pretty ugly looking monstrous case cover over the top of it, it might as well just be any other phone.

I would dearly love to use it naked, but I am sure i would want to protect it outside the house with the cost investment into it.

Im very excited to test the Zflip6, ive never had a flip (or a fold) And it'll be quite different for me exploring all these new features. Thanks for sharing!😊

Well yes the AI more user integrated but but still number of useful tools. Obviously other Devices have the full suite though.
