I have a Samsung Galaxy Fold 3 512GB which is less than 3 months old. All of a sudden there is a thick black line anytime I unfold the device on the main screen. The right side of the main screen is also completely unresponsive to touch. The black line is as thick as the fold and does not go away. I have factory reset the device, but it did not help. I have been trying to get support from Samsung and have spent hours on the phone and chatting, but can get no resolution from Samsung. This appears to be a very clear flaw in the device as I've read many other posts regarding the same exact issue. Why is Samsung not taking responsibility for this flaw? I was told it cannot be covered under warranty, and while I have insurance the insurance is stating that it won't pay as it should be covered under warranty. I've been a 10+ Samsung customer and will no longer buy another product from Samsung because of the lack of support I've received.

Same problem here. I called them and they asked me to ship the phone back to them, which is already very frustrating. I will be without a phone for 7ish days.
I hope they fix it for free and admit the device flaw. If I have to pay, they will lose a long term customer (have bought everything Samsung since 2010)

I'm having the same exact issue. Been trying to get this fixed for a week now. They told me to take it to Ubreakifix, but they told me that they couldnt fix it and that I needed samsung to send me a new phone. I'm on the phone with samsung now to see if they can send me a replacement phone. This is terrible. All of this money for this aggravation. I was happier with my S10. No issues out of that phone at all.

I just had my screen do the exact issue. Four days ago I opened my Galaxy Z Fold3 it made a crinkling sound and there was a white line down the fold of the screen. The fold area was still smooth. The touch screen is somewhat unresponsive in areas.
Four days later now there is a black lines under the glass that look like black ink leaking.
I surely would like to know your issue was solved in a timely manner? Two days on the phone have not settled the issue. Started with my carrier which told me they I have to call Samsung. After two days back and forth with Samsung I've been told to go back to my carrier. So off I am.

So my husband brought me the samsung fold 3 for my birthday mid feb and by 5th April i have big thick black running down the middle where the crease is to fold, it is also unresponsive. I have contacted samsung and said to send it in for repair. And i have just received the horrifying email saying there is physical damage and i have to pay £409. What damage i do not know if there is a scratch it must be the lightest fingernail as no way was there any damage but maybe under a 20x zoom camera they might have found something. I have contacted samsung they are saying there is nothing they can do. So i either pay which i cannot afford or have a broken phone which is my only option! I am writing to watchdog as this phone is not fit for purpose and terrible service from samsung and will informing watch dog to check these comments. I am absolutely shocked with how samsung have treated me and to others who have complained about the same thing! Never will i purchase a samsung again!

I think you should report to BBB and FTC as well or bring it to news media.

I am experiencing a similar issue, mine is a black ink dot, and my touch screens are responsive.
I hope to get help from Samsung.

It is a common issue with Samsung foldables

You should have bought the Galaxy S Phones instead of the Galaxy Z phones

I am so sad. I loved my 256GB z flip 3. My fiance bought me in January. I looked down today and noticed a black line in the crease and the top portion of the screen is unresponsive. This is clearly a defect with the device. I hope Samsung helps.
