Hiya, please help:-

my partner has a Samsung Z4 flip phone and now his screen is damaged, he cannot see anything. 

How will he be able to back up all his data before he has it repaired?

It may be possible with a USB-C cable to connect to a PC monitor or TV and gain the visual needs from an external display. From here hopefully can synchronise/ backup data to the Google account for the contacts, messages, photos etc.

I think this is probably the most likely way. But without seeing the phone and trying it, it is hard to give exact details.

This screenshot shows my phone connected simply with a HDMI cable and USB-C adaptor. From here i can access my phone in a PC interface known as Dex.

Typically it should be very simple to use this just like a pc.

The easiest way if you have a mouse and keyboard available will make things a lot easier, is to get an adaptor like this link below. It provides video output to a monitor or TV, and USB ports for keyboard and mouse. You can use the phone as a computer to get around your issues.

Dex is a powerful tool in Samsung phones.

No the screen is black and flickering so unreadable

Don't think the zflip4 has dex

Oh. To be honest I hadn't thought of that. Although I don't own a flip... I just assumed like all Samsung S series that the dex mode would work.
