I just used a fan to cool my phone down now i have a purple line in the right of my screen covering partly of the O and 9 ill post a link share when my other phone is charged

If a Samsung phone overheats it would typically show a warning pop up box ⚠️ and shut down automatically @olliehubb60 

Did this happen ?

Are you able to visit a Samsung Experience Store or Samsung Service Centre or arrange flr the phone to be sent to Samsung flr a diagnostic.

It didn't come up with a warning box but it just shut down on 36%and yes there's a store near me just a 23min drive

Ok then if the phone automatically shut down then if troubleshooting such as Clear Cache Files from the phone's System Partition Section  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to insert your earphones or hook upto a powered On Laptop to access the Clear Partition Section. This may help with lag or stutters as this clears the phone of old/unused or broken cache files.There is also a Repair Apps option in the Menu System too.  And Safe Mode  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/ turns off downloaded apps and themes etc which may highlight an app or theme that's causing conflict. 

Or as a last resort back up and factory reset does not help then let a Samsung Service Centre have a look.
