Green vertical line appeared on the screen immediately  after my Z Flip 3 had a software update. This issue seemed prevalent with samsung phones.

Software Update was done at 4-DEC-2024 5:30 AM - IST

When i approached Samsung Service Center they asked me to raise the issue at community.

Hi there 👋 and warm welcome

First thing you could try is open phone dialer and type *#0*# press on top 3 colours and see if line dissappear when pressed on the colours, if it does then it could be due to software, apps etc, if not then it's most likely hardware issue as we seen multiple people with same issues and then you have to book a repair.

Other things to try:

Wipe cache partition:
Turn off your phone. Plug your phone to PC, tv, etc, via USB Then press and hold power button and volume up button until samsung logo appears Then quickly release power button and keep holding volume up button until reboot menu appears then navigate with volume down button till wipe cache partition press power button Restart your phone.

Safe mode:

this is not a solution!

Samsung affected more than a million devices with a software updates that make them unuseable, forcing them to replace the screen paying almost 70% of the value of device or trashing it bricked.

THI IS CALLED PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE.

And I ditchet Samsung for this reason

I did try the recommended. In my case I have Glaxy Z fold 3 and this appears to have started with the latest software update. When will this bug be fix? I see a vertical red line in the middle of my screen, but just on the main front screen. If I unfold the screen the line dissapeara. I tried the *#0 thing and the line only dissapears in the green screen. I guess is just software? Please confirm!

Mine also started with latest UI update, in June 2025. I would like to see some action from Samsung on this issue.

Literally happened to me in the last update ZFlip3. Samsung service centre saying can't happen in zflip there must be something wrong at your end. Couldn't convince them and my phone I never dropped my phone like ever. Can't seem to find help.

I’ve been using this mobile for the past 3 years without any issues. However, after updating to One UI 0.7, everything seemed fine until three weeks later—when I woke up one morning and suddenly noticed a green line on the screen.

When I visited your authorized service center, I was informed that the screen replacement would cost ₹10,000, even though the issue clearly appeared after a software update.
