FOLD3 WIFI DEFECT

As losing the ability to connect to WIFI on the FOLD3  is a KNOWN issue/defect by Samsung, any reputable company would have done a recall on this phone to repair or replace at no cost to the owner and with very minimal further inconvenience.  It is highly offensive that when you contact Samsung about this issue, the robot representatives that answer the calls act like they are not aware of this issue and waste your time with a series of tech steps.  If a high level Samsung representative is monitoring this post, you need to reach out to each and every FOLD3 owner immediately to arrange local repair or replacement.  Otherwise, I do foresee a hefty Class Action Lawsuit in Samsung's near future.  The Courts in the USA especially are not at all lenient about a Company's disregard for known product defects and the unwillingness to immediately repair or replace the product.

I did this and it helped. It's the soft reset.

Press and hold the volume down and the power button till your phone reboots it's self and that's it.

I just did it and my wifi got restored.

I got the same issue recently after the software update, i contact Samsung online and they told me i have to send it for repair shop. I bought this phone more than 2 years, im not sure how ill go with warranty or what will be the repair cost. How can we verify this issue is related to software update. I have been loyal to Samsung for the past 15 years and i thinks its time for me to find alternatives if they are not taking it seriously to solve this common issue related to zfold. I hope there will be recall to resolve all the defective phones.

I fully agree with Mary444's post and question the nature of your post and what you are trying to achieve. If you are lucky with a single device wo4king for you, do not undermine others pain not bein as lucky. whether with devices or poor services. I have 3 fold 3 phones, purchased since they were released, and all 3 are faulty. one trashed b3cause the screen no longer works and the speaker doesn't either because of a known poor design with the sound wires going around the opening closing mechanism so subject to getting cut over time, and the hardware issue losing ability to connect to wifi or bluetooth. I am typing this message with a Fold 3 withboth problems and a disgrace having paid more than 5K pounds on what is meant to be a flagship ending to be one of the worst investments and experiences I had purchasing phones in my life.

yes Mary444, there should have been a recall and for BandOfBrothers, I foresee some learn others pain the hard way by living through it.

I'm another Fold 3 users that has had their WiFi die on them recently. I can get by with mobile data but my place of work is a signal dead zone and so I lose all internet connectivity when there, which given we need to clock in via an app is a pretty big issue.

Thankfully I have other devices I can switch too but if the Fold 3 is a person's only phone this is a really big problem for them.

I have the same issue on my Fold 3. I do not have another phone and I cannot afford another so this is a big issue for me. A known falt \ defect like this should result in a recall not happy at all.

Actually, I was quoted $383 by customer service at Samsung and received a shipping label by email. They said it may cost less, and if so, my card will be credited accordingly. Phones wear out, but 3 years does seem premature. Refurb Fold 3's are running $350-450 at the big retailers, but buying another used one doesn't seem like the answer. Mine has a new screen, so going ahead with the repair looks like the best way to go. I do like the Pixel Fold, but they're running over $500 for a 2 year old phone.

Recall on a 3 year old phone is unlikely. S#$t happens but dozens (not you) ranting isn't going to help. I wish people affected would get some estimates/quotes for the repair. That would be more helpful than reading complaints and bluffs. Good luck.

Ranting may not help fix the issue but it is certainly cathartic.

A recall is unlikely but for such an expensive device I don't think expecting a cheap(ish) repair for a known issue is completely unreasonable.

Thats what I am saying. Lots of rants but no costs to repait mentioned.
