Finger print sensor no longer responding after most recent update. Does anyone have a similar issue?

Hi! Welcome to the Samsung Members community!

I would go to Samsung Members > Support > Diagnostics and run the tests. See if it passes. If it doesn't, I would contact Samsung support directly. If it does pass, I would see if reassigning fingerprints, adding multiple of the same finger, ensuring the screen protector isn't causing issues, and turning on settings such as touch sensitivity helps.

@DukeFinance  I find that the fingerprint sensor works best if you register a few fingers twice though some may not have an issue with another method, I know you have tried resets.

However it is advisable to clear the cache partition after updates and sometimes this has helped Members with fingerprint issues.

1. Turn off the device.
2. Connect To Computer , other Device or TV USB, Press and hold the Volume Up key and then press and hold the Power key
3. When the Android logo displays, release both keys.
4. Wait until the Android system recovery menu options appear.
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
6. Press Power key to select.
7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

Update:
Took to a repair centre (EE was the samsung recommended locally). They replaced the sensor and said there was some other fault! All fixed now and awaiting One UI 7!

Thanks for the tips above James.

At least it is sorted now, sometimes the tips help but obviously was more serious issue.
