Hi,

I've being using iphone for the last 10 years and just moved back over to Samsung.

Am I correct in thinking that the software update process seems a lot worse and slower than it was 10 years ago?

South Korea got the new update about 2 weeks ago and the UK is still waiting?

If this is the case, then I will be ditching the S25 Ultra.

So with Android 16 due to be released in Q2 of 2015, Samsung still hasn't released Android 15 to handsets apart from S25 series.

And the release of Android 15 to handsets has been delayed..

Think they dropped one ui 7 before it's been properly tested there have been alot of bugs in the firmware. They now making sure they fix it for all other phones before launching. Because if one ui 7 becomes a laughing stock that does not bode well for samsungs bottom line. More complicated phones become more the software has to be. If you want your phone to do everything year on year A-Z then expect delays and if you want hardware 3 years behind all the others just to get faster updates then go back to apple simple

You do realise Android 15 only officially released in October last year, so because Google decided to rapidly release Android versions, Samsung is delaying things?

Just for One UI 7. Samsung is usually very good at updates

It definitely has gotten worse. 2023 we received stable one ui 6 in October. It's now 2025 and yet to see the stable roll out. Massive difference. Samsung are getting lazy.

You mean normal like the s23 ultra within a few days of being announced or normal like the s24 ultra within 3 weeks of being announced ?

Honestly I could be an old timer for thinking this but I'm honestly good with waiting a bit for updates as it gives the development team more time to iron out bugs and issues giving us the best possible launch experience. Yes One UI 7 is out on the S25 series and I completely understand the outrage of it being delayed.

HOWEVER, Think of it like this. If you were there for the cyberpunk launch date you would know how bad of a disaster that was not only for the development team but the players as well and it single handedly almost killed the game for everyone.

Samsung taking there time to release an update not only gives them time to flush out issues but also avoids being the cyberpunk of phones

Also doesn't help I waited nearly 12 years for GTA 6. I've become a skeleton here lads 😂
