Set Google pay as default!!

I have set Google pay as default but when I swipe up to open wallet it's still on Samsung wallet 🤔

I have never used Google wallet but can't add revolut card to Samsung wallet so need to switch to Google wallet.

Why won't it default to Google wallet?

Hi, @rogersdave77. The second screenshot you uploaded shows the Quick access setting on Samsung Wallet (e.g. Swipe up). This will not impact how you access Google Wallet, so you'd need to set up another way to access this.

As per Google:

"On supported Samsung phones, you can add a Google Wallet shortcut to your lock screen, side key, or Bixby key."

You may wish to add the app shortcut to your Home screen, or you could utilise the steps provided in the guide below (from Samsung US) to open Google Wallet via the Side key:

If you've only got one payment card on Google wallet and NFC enabled you don't need to open Google wallet to make a payment.

OK so I have added it to side key....is there no way to have it swipe up from bottom or is side keybthe only option? Might just get a physical revolut card for when I go on hoilday

I have my Google pay as a double press to the side button. It opens instantly. Once get used to that, it becomes second nature to just double press the button at every need for payment. It works quite well.

I would rather have it swipe up from bottom like Samsung pay does as I have store loyalty cards and other cards on there...double tap side key just to much hassle 😂

Yeah unfortunately the swipe up gesture is unique to samsung pay... it doesnt have that option with other pay services.

I used to find i would activate the card payment with that by accident... especially now with the 'Google bar' that is used for circle to search and AI. I would bring up card payment even when I didn't want it.

The main reason I switched to Google pay was like you... many of my bank cards not supported by samsung pay, including Lloyds and Revolut. Also ticketing for my football matches only comes up on Google.

I guess I will have to get a Samsung pay+ card then add revolut to that then I wont need Google pay 🤔 and can continue using Samsung pay

My choice us Google Wallet too and then I force stop / disable Samsung Wallet which removes the Samsung Wallet swipe up from the bottom.

You can't make Google Wallet swipe up on a Samsung phone at present, as the handle (which is excellent, I must admit) is an exclusive feature of Samsung Wallet. I'm not aware of any other workarounds (other than those mentioned here in the thread) or third-party solutions for this.
