Hey all! Hope your having a fantastic weekend so far.
After reading a post on here about clearing cache partition I went to try it on my s25 ultra and it doesn't work. This also happened on my s23 ultra and I dont know why. I've plugged it into a PS5 controller (I had no access to a pc), Tried it without a usb connected and I still get this error everytime. Does anyone know how i fix this? I asked AI but it doesn't really help.

AI response: The error "[PDP] back-up : fail setup-wizard [FINISH]" on your Samsung device means a critical backup related to the PDP (likely "Process Data Partition") failed during setup. This could be due to corrupted system files, storage issues, software glitches, or firmware problems.

Thanks in advance!

I've done some digging, and it looks like there's an issue—where sometimes it refused to work until plugged into a PC, Do you have a USB-C headset? That appears to be one of two options. Unsure why exactly it wouldn't work with a PS5 controller, probably due to some weird internal controller thing

There's this and another on reddit but no good responses on there

This is error when phone is not connected. I do not know how it works with PS2, but with computer, you link via the USB cable, phone is shown on the computer as external drive. You turn the phone off (whilst still connected). Push volume up and power buttons together till it leads up the options.

You can then disconnect from the device.

With your PS, ensure it has access the phone (see if you can see phone contents)  before turning off. Also make sure phone screen is not locked.

After One Ui 6.0 some Members reported that the USB-C  Headphones method  did not work, obviously an issue with the PS5 controller.  personally have not had an issue with PC.  Could cherck the Default USB configuration in Developer options.

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

I had this issue but turned phone off, plugged it into chrome book and waited for the battery charging icon to come up then pressed the volume up and power button at the same time, that worked

One day Samsung may reintroduce the option to access this troubleshooting tool without having to hook up to anything else. 😎

yea that'd make so much sense and alot more convenient. It's a pain having to do it like that and it doesn't work regardless😂
