S25 Ultra WiFi calling bug EE UK

I'm having trouble with Wi-Fi calling on my new S25 Ultra. Here's what's happening:
 * Unlike my old S24 Ultra, I can't get Wi-Fi calling to work unless I manually turn Location Services on and off again.
 * On my old phone, Location Services would automatically turn on and off for a few seconds when Wi-Fi turned on, and that would trigger Wi-Fi calling.
 * This new behavior isn't mentioned in the S25 user manual.
 * I've tried restarting the phone and resetting network settings, but that hasn't helped.
Could you please look into this? It's really frustrating having to jump through these extra hoops just to make a call.

Without knowing how you're device has been configured by you.....

In my case.....

Location is usually turned off (it needs to be on when setting WiFi up for the first time I think but not ongoing).

From the quick access menu (pull down from the top) WiFi calling is lit up (turned on)

At both home and work WiFi calling is essential. It works.

When I move between work and home it is seamless.

Whilst your comment here was directed to another user, I've tried this and it worked seamlessly.

I've had pretty much every Samsung S and Note series since the S2. Since introduced wifi calling has just always worked but is giving me issues with this s25 ultra.

I did use smart switch to transfer old phone so maybe this buggered something up.

Have so far wiped cache in boot menu.

Reset network settings
Reset bluetooth and wifi settings

Cleared cache in all phone and wifi calling related apps from the phone app menu using display system apps option

Am pretty technical but this is bugging me

Update, I changed my network mode to 4g only and it seems fine.

I think this issue lies with 5g standalone (NR SA)

The wifi calling icon shows when i pull the quick settings panel down so it's working. Just don't have the permanent icon like we used to.

I'm also experiencing this problem, and it's quite frustrating. I've been trying to troubleshoot it for a while now without any luck. I'm wondering if 5G SA could be the culprit. I am on EE

I'm pretty sure its 5G SA and possibly an issue with EE provisioning rather than the device as everything else works and people I know on other networks same device don't have this issue.

Also the phone always seems to drop to volte before switching to wifi calling then breaks.

Really frustrating and EE tech ain't got a clue be it 1st, 2nd or 3rd line support.

Reported to Samsung members with logs multiple times and no response.

For a device that costs £1549 this is appalling service from Samsung.

For a flagship device at this price point which makes any other phone within budget, its really unacceptable that Samsung do not get back to their customers.

Do you have any idea why WiFi Calling works sometimes and not at other times? I've actually set up a Bixby Routine as a workaround that forces the phone to fall back to 4G whenever it's connected to my home WiFi. It seems to help a bit.

Not too sure unfortunately as its a little random. On my phone if I'm on a call and enter or exit a wifi zone then the call will drop and the phone will have no mobile network (can't make or receive calls) until I cycle wifi on and off a few times.

However if I'm not on a call then the wifi calling will engage properly about 80% of the time.

You can report this bug through the Samsung members app when it happens and provide logs, maybe the more complaints they get the sooner they may look into it?

I’ll report it through the Samsung Members app next time it happens. I initially thought it might be something to do with my broadband or Wi-Fi router DNS settings. Packet tracing shows the keep-alive packets are fine, so the phone is definitely connected to Wi-Fi calling core seems like an issue with the call setup. Might need EE’s support as well.
