S25 ultra overheating during initialization

Like the title, the S25U (Ultra) was overheating during the initialization of the phone. I recently purchase the S25U 12+512GB version, and after opening the box and revealing the phone, I turned on the phone. I started putting in the old details and google stuff, allowing this and that yada yada. When I finally arrive to my home screen, I touch the side and the back (next to the camera bump) of my phone, it was burning hot. So naturally I cool it down by turning the screen off. It took at least 7 minutes for the heat to dissipate. Has anyone encountered the same issue? Should I ask for an entirely new phone? I am very concerned. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Galaxy Member

Hi and Welcome.

Seems pretty normal to me. 😊

Doing yada yada to the phone will stress it out a little 😊.

I would only worry if it is a recurring thing without the yada yada 😊

Hi, did you use smart switch to copy over your data to the new device?

I didn't use it, I just set it up manually and added accounts. no data or settings were transferred in the process.

Additionally, I charged the phone for like 8 mins during the initialization, because I saw it was on 40-ish%. I used the normal type-c to type-c super-fast charging. If that information is worth anything, then there's that.

Hello 👋 @youstube

Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum.

Before considering a swap please try these troubleshooting steps.

1. Clear Cache Files from the phone's System Partition Section  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to insert your earphones or hook upto a powered On Laptop or use a Tv's USB Port or a usb-c to usb-c phone to phone set up to access the Clear Partition Section. This may help with lag or stutters as this clears the phone of old/unused or broken cache files.There is also a Repair Apps option in the Menu System too { Possibly excluding the s²⁴ Series of phone's }

2. Https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/

3. Use the Optimisation tool in Device Care.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

So you put a charger in and felt the battery warm up? Could've included that in the initial story.
