As the title tells, I feel very secure now... not. The phone got an update, restarted it. All fine so far. Now, a couple of hours later, I wanted to check Discord and boom... wrong unlock pattern. I never used another one before. I know my pattern! Something broke, and I don't know how to access the device now. I have my Galaxy Tab 9 but so far, I was not able to find any unlock functions like through SmartThings Find as Grok and ChatGPT suggested. There are plenty of videos about hard reset but thats not an option. I have my Authy on it and alot of photos and dats I don't want to loose. There are not even options like using a normal pin or email/google to get into the phone now. To be honest: I just switched from my iPhone 15 Pro Max and missing the TrueDepth unlock. That never let me down. So, what is the procedure to bypass/unlock the phone, without a hard reset.  -- Thank you, Streamings

There's no way to bypass a phone's lock screen.

If you truly cannot unlock it, a reset is the only option.

Make sure your screen is clean and be slow and careful when entering your code.

There isn't a way to get past the code and keep your data.

If authy and photos are your worry, I'd imagine you enabled backups within authy and setup google photos/one drive photo backups. If you didn't, well...

You cannot bypass... as that is the whole idea of a secure phone. If it was easily bypassed, then all stolen phones would be easily hard reset / reimaged. I don't even think you could factory hard reset it without the unlock code. The first thing it will ask is for a pin code to progress.

I do however believe though that you should still be able to use a pin code or password ... as an alternative. This is often used as the backup method of security. I think you need to enter a pin code to even get into the biometrics of the phone.

Good luck... I hope you resolve... but my understanding is there is not a 'backdoor' way of getting in.

It is my unlock pattern. I would not write on Reddit and here if I would just have a bad day. The phone does not recognize MY unlock pattern. And it does not give me any other options to unlock, like the basic pin (4 or 6 digits?) -- This is a software issue, a flaw by design and if the only solution is a hard reset, I think twice of getting another Samsung device in the future. Sounds rough, but I need hardware that works and I can trust. I read that other users have this issue, without any solution. I am biting my way through it, until I found a fix for it. Samsung can't press for security and then lock out their users with software bugs.

I have no answer but am always surprised to read a post like this.   The simplest reason for this, someone else changed the unlock pattern.

I am here at my sister's place, babysitting cats with my 75-year-old mother, who is not touching this phone. It might be the cats then. I knew they're up to something…

Your unlock pattern?  Are you referring to the box with nine dots and the pattern you draw with your finger or S Pen?

If it's a four digit code, have you thought to try the factory unlock code of 0000?

If you keep using the wrong code you might be asked to enter your PUK, the eight digit code supplied by your  Sim provider.

Just a thought.  I'd love to know how this turns out.
