Hi @Allysisa
The S25 Ultra is better. It is a newer phone and technically it should be better, it has newer hardware. The issue is how to quantify that "better".
Tech specs are not miles from each other. The S25 Ultra has newer CPU, GPU, BT compliance, and ultrawide lens.
There is the perception that the S25 Ultra is better shooter. Again, it will be hard to say if the advantages are hardware or software related. We know that only the Ultrawide lens changed from 12MP to 50MP, all other lenses are the same including the front camera.
The S24 Ultra has been able to take excellent pictures, but it also had and has issues with different lenses and resolutions. The S25 Ultra has had a few posts complaining about the camera. It seems that these excellent shots and not so good ones are a right of passage for all phones.
I would like to add knowledge of photography is a very important factor to get those excellent shots. Expectations also should be factored in, some people complain about shots which a professional camera will struggle with and expect the phone to outdo them.
The S24 Ultra has S Pen BT support, the display has greater density (ppi) and arguably more mature software.
Is there a need to upgrade from S24 Ultra to S25 Ultra? The short answer is no. However, buying/upgrading a flagship phone like a S Ultra has nothing to do with needs. It is a very personal decision. If you want it and won't cause financial stress is more than enough to do it. Saying that, even if you want it and does not cause financial stress, it is also OK not to do it.
