Anyone else found that using RAM plus on thr s25 ultra makes the phone run considerably cooler to the touch!

I had a negative issue with RAM Plus a while back—I honestly can't remember what, maybe the battery? I don't use it now; I don't feel I need it. As RAM Plus dedicates internal storage as "RAM," it uses storage and battery.

It's something you that don't really need to have it switched on.

Having it on will sorta freeze apps to storage that aren't currently in use but are running. Where having it off means apps have to keep opening from the start if the phone closes them. To explain a little better.

Ram plus: Open WhatsApp, app loads from the start, go do other things, WhatsApp is placed into storage to save ram. Open WhatsApp again, it continues where you left off without needing to load.

Ram plus off: Open whatsapp, app loads from the start. Go do other things, phone closes whatsapp to free ram. Open WhatsApp again, app loads from the start.

When working as intended, it shouldballow you to keep more apps open and prevent apps loading from the start each time. Should save battery and reduce heat. Though from what some of you have said, sometimes the opposite happens. Guessing it's dependant on how you use your phone. It also only really gets used if you fill your phone's ram with apps

Would there be a reason my phone seems to run cooler when I have it on though? When it was switched off my phone was deffo hotter for some reason, I've had no negative impact of it being on and the positive of a cooler device

So mine is more than likely just working as intended due to how I use my device?

Probably yeah. The setting technically isn't even a samsung thing. It's actually just enabling the swap partition on Linux, since android is linux based. Windows has the same thing, they just call it a page file. It stops your pc or phone crashing when it runs out of memory, though in modern days that'd never happen anyway

Can experiment but I do not think it is generally advantageous  to use Ram Plus on the latest premium devices (though can obviously test it), a number of users certainly found that having it disabled boosted performance in their devices. Personally I have not used it for some time. Ram is faster than storage.

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.
