Kinda disappointed with the S25 Series.

As everyone knows, the S25 series was released earlier today. However, it's left me and many others (youtubers such as flossy carter, mrwhosetheboss etc) somewhat unsatisfied.

Let me start off with the positives:

• The phone overall is very lovely, particularly the screen bezels and improved anti reflective coating.

• The OneUi 7 system is so ***** impressive. Genuinely hats off to Samsung. It's so smooth, particularly when the camera app was seen to be used.

That's pretty much it. The rest was all about Ai and how it's gotten smarter with more access to more personal information.

Now to summarise the bad points.

• The wireless Qi2 standard literally incorporates magnets into the design of the wireless charging system. The fact that Samsung decided to remove this well needed feature is simply diabolical. Sure they kept the 25w wireless charging speeds from the standard. I've waited 5 years (since the iPhone 12) for my Samsung to have an equivalent to magsafe and im beyond disappointed.

• THEY REMOVED THE BLUETOOTH S-PEN. Sure, the only thing i used was the remote camera shutter button and an argument could be made that the watch lineup has the 'camera assistant' app, which lets you visually lineup shots better, but most people don't even have a smartwatch.

• The overall design of the S25 Ultra seems very very generic. When looking from the front, it can be easily mistaken for a random Android device within the past 2 years. The sides are now sharper (not the corners) and when seen from behind, it kinda looks like a galaxy a54. This isn't a major gripe, but they couldve done WAYYY more, as a compliment to the new One ui experience.

• 5000mAh battery cell. In 2025. Yeah. Idk. I understand that most Chinese smartphone companies started to incorporate a minimum of 6000mAh cells, thanks to a refinement in battery technology, allowing for greater density in the same physical footprint. Why then has Samsung not implemented this? I do understand the work on the S25 was started a long time ago but they could've done with a battery upgrade.

I don't know what else to say. I'm pretty certain there's going to be a significant amount of small niggles that I or others don't personally like but that's not going to change anything. The phones are officially released and they probably aren't going to make an S25 Ultra SE anytime soon. I've bought three Ultra devices (current is S22 Ultra) and this is the first year in which I am utterly disappointed by what was released. It sucks but I have to probably wait another year for my perfect smartphone.

Do let me know what else everyone dislikes or likes about the new series down below.

ps. id appreciate it if this post isn't taken down, it's just an opinion.

Im currently using the S24 Ultra and seeing what the S25 offers. I kinda see this as not an upgrade but a slight improvement on some smaller features like the screen for example. The features the S25 offers I feel will be added to the S24 series with the release of one UI 7 so for me this year is not Worthing changing from the S24. Even if some features become S25 exclusive which I highly doubt given the S23 got all the AI features the S24 got on release. Who knows to me though this year is a miss for me.

I definitely see no reason to
Upgrade from my S23 Ultra at all I'd wait until at least S27 maybe even S28 the advantages are so minimal that they don't justify the cost

Sony had a 4k screen ages ago. Tell me if that enticed you to buy one?

I'm a massive samsung Knight fan but I have to disagree with you as most of the software AI features will come to the S24 ultra when we get one UI-7 yeah the S25 ultra got a 50mp wide angle camera lens and yes the new Snapdragon elite gen 8 chipset is fantastic but samsung took away the Bluetooth functionality from the S-Pen and I use it just look at youtube channels and read the comments samsung have massively underestimated how many people use that Bluetooth functionality BUT also NO 16gb RAM NO 65W super fast charging, samsung could have included the silicone cabon battery and increased capacity to 5,500 6,000mah loads of Chinese phones have 80/100/120W ultra fast charging and there batteries don't set on fire that's just an excuse for samsung, also samsung should have upgraded ALL cameras to 50mp and improved the cameras hardware not just replying on AI the honour magic pro 7 goes upto 5,000 nits max brightness has 6,000mah battery 90W fast charging and all 50mp cameras + 200mp main camera and is £200-£300 cheaper samsung are taking us for mugs if the S26 ULTRA doesn't have the upgrades I've mentioned and S-Pen Bluetooth functionality i might??? Consider switching to oppo or honour for my next mobile phone

NO it didn't but only because I don't like the SONY's form factor it's phone are far too narrow at 21.9 aspect ratio I'm a massive samsung Knight fan BUT samsung should have not taken away the Bluetooth functionality from the S-Pen and included 65W super fast charging and a bigger battery capacity and ALL camera hardware upgraded and i would have brought the S25 ultra and been happy paying an extra £100

I have to agree that I'm disappointed with the specs for the S25 Ultra. Normally, I buy a new phone every other year. But this time I was hoping for 16gb of Ram, which is available on other brands. Finally a bigger battery. But also a real upgrade to the cameras. Yes, that one 50mp camera is there. But no other improvement. The reason why I say this is because I still think my s22ultra made better pictures compared to the s24ultra. Yes, really. Especially at concerts. An upgrade in technology would have made me buy the S25ultra. But combined with what I mentioned before this will not happen. For the first time in years I'm looking more at what other brands are doing, because Samsung is getting behind. Not a good situation for a company that has to step up its game because it's not doing as great at the moment.

But AI is a great companion for the galaxy cameras, especially the upgrade from 12mp to 50mp. Hope whatever you decide works out for you 🙏

Ive been waiting for the past few months for a new phone and this was it, however after seeing what seems like a lack of effort or motivation into this years modle ive deceided to not buy Samsung this time around.

It feels like the improvements they made are so minimal and still lacking in comparison to the brands more popular in Asia. Charge speeds still low, camera almost exactly the same! yea it has a new processor but so what? they bring a new one out so regular that its a given at this stage.

The screen still dont look as good as Iphone and that annoys me a lot as i hate Apple and refuse to buy from then because they over price there products.

I had my s24 ultra next to my friends iphone 16 and 14 and both screens on the appl seems to look a lot better even though Samsung's has better stats....

Anyway there are many disappointments with this years modle and unless i got it free i wont even bother using it.
