Kinda disappointed with the S25 Series.

As everyone knows, the S25 series was released earlier today. However, it's left me and many others (youtubers such as flossy carter, mrwhosetheboss etc) somewhat unsatisfied.

Let me start off with the positives:

• The phone overall is very lovely, particularly the screen bezels and improved anti reflective coating.

• The OneUi 7 system is so ***** impressive. Genuinely hats off to Samsung. It's so smooth, particularly when the camera app was seen to be used.

That's pretty much it. The rest was all about Ai and how it's gotten smarter with more access to more personal information.

Now to summarise the bad points.

• The wireless Qi2 standard literally incorporates magnets into the design of the wireless charging system. The fact that Samsung decided to remove this well needed feature is simply diabolical. Sure they kept the 25w wireless charging speeds from the standard. I've waited 5 years (since the iPhone 12) for my Samsung to have an equivalent to magsafe and im beyond disappointed.

• THEY REMOVED THE BLUETOOTH S-PEN. Sure, the only thing i used was the remote camera shutter button and an argument could be made that the watch lineup has the 'camera assistant' app, which lets you visually lineup shots better, but most people don't even have a smartwatch.

• The overall design of the S25 Ultra seems very very generic. When looking from the front, it can be easily mistaken for a random Android device within the past 2 years. The sides are now sharper (not the corners) and when seen from behind, it kinda looks like a galaxy a54. This isn't a major gripe, but they couldve done WAYYY more, as a compliment to the new One ui experience.

• 5000mAh battery cell. In 2025. Yeah. Idk. I understand that most Chinese smartphone companies started to incorporate a minimum of 6000mAh cells, thanks to a refinement in battery technology, allowing for greater density in the same physical footprint. Why then has Samsung not implemented this? I do understand the work on the S25 was started a long time ago but they could've done with a battery upgrade.

I don't know what else to say. I'm pretty certain there's going to be a significant amount of small niggles that I or others don't personally like but that's not going to change anything. The phones are officially released and they probably aren't going to make an S25 Ultra SE anytime soon. I've bought three Ultra devices (current is S22 Ultra) and this is the first year in which I am utterly disappointed by what was released. It sucks but I have to probably wait another year for my perfect smartphone.

Do let me know what else everyone dislikes or likes about the new series down below.

ps. id appreciate it if this post isn't taken down, it's just an opinion.

Hello @GF1O 👋

The only time a post will be removed is if the content infringes the forums Guidelines.

I totally understand and appreciate your viewpoint on this.  👍

For me the aesthetics of my Samsung Galaxy s²⁴ Ultra hit the sweet spot with it's design and flat screen.

The thing is that phone's currently in my opinion have reached pretty much their peak in design. Some said the Samsung Galaxy s²⁴ Ultra corners were a little too boxy, so Samsung listened and acted. It won't please everyone.

I too follow Flossy Carter who is one of my Go To YouTube Creators so I'll definitely be watching his views on the new Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Series of phone's.

In my personal opinion because I already have the Samsung Galaxy s²⁴ Ultra, I do think that this phone is more of an upgrade for people coming from an older S series phone ,or A Series phone.

Obviously phone people i.e those that having a flagship is their thing will buy the phone.

Going from other Samsung launches millions of these will sell.

Yes there was speculation about the Bluetooth Capabilities of the sPen, and the removal will niggle some, but not all owners.

For example my wants and needs has never involved the sPen having Bluetooth.

I do annotation and sign online documents personally.

I would have liked Samsung to add Magsafe Capabilities however I use a Magsafe Case on my current phone , so maybe this will be a future upgrade.

I'm left wondering what will happen with the Samsung s²⁵ Edge  🤔

I get it that this won't be the phone for everyone as we all have different wants and needs, and have different usage habits.

The beauty of choice is to buy and not to buy.  😎

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

I totally agree with you I'll be keeping my S24 ULTRA and Samsung had better wake up and very quickly for the S26 ULTRA and implement ALL the cons you've highlighted

Bring back Bluetooth S-Pen functionality, bigger battery capacity, 16gb RAM, updated camera lens 200mp + 50mp cameras to ALL lenses, 65W super fast charging, putting the charger in the box where it belongs, a 4K screen resolution otherwise I might not the 1st time in living memory be looking for another mobile phone company oppo ,honour etc who have these features now except for the S-Pen

This is typically a free speech forum and most things do not get taken down unless they infringe the rules.

I think you might find the posts were simply being moved around to a new 's25' area on the forum. I can read this all now, where last night at midnight I was also getting the same errors.

So I assume you are now able to see your posts.

I agree in some aspect, disappointing in some of the specs, nothing much changed from previous models, more colours throu for the S25 Ultra brand. Prices are more like this year's price was. Does seem silly to remove the S Pen Bluetooth functionality..

Whilst I am interested in peoples thoughts, you have posted this so many times, it's becoming spam. Whilst you claim that you post have been taken down that's BS, I have seen it atleast 4 x this morning on each and every members stars posts

Don't y'all think that the small improvements make a big difference, the new chip in the S25U improves battery life, hence keeping it at 5000mah
Most gestures can be done using a watch or ring, plus the camera viewer on the watch is a better touch of class, and you'd have to wonder how many used the S pen, is the S pen on the Ultra series becoming more of a gimmick 🤷🏾
Maybe it's a good thing to stay away from 65w charging, heat from the battery charging so fast, maybe shorter battery life if 65w used all the time, being sensible and keeping it real, because Samsung cannot really risk another phone fire 🔥🚒
There are only an amount of ways a phones design can be done, oblong yes, squared or rounded corners, yes, large or small bezels, yes, touch screen, yes.
Phone design is really at the end now, it's all about software and what you can get it to do, to give user satisfaction. Not sure if y'all remember when Nokia was the phone king, using Karl Zeiss lens which were the best you could get, how much more camera power does a smart phone need!?🤷🏾 Go through all your pictures saved on phone or in the cloud ☁️ and see how many times you've used it to full capacity, followed David Attenborough around taking shots, or cat walk pics. The most I've used mine is at concerts, and tbh looking at some old pics from when I had my Note series (Note 10+ 5G), the quality has improved a lot! All phone manufacturers will mainly be looking at how AI can integrate with us much more, how AI can edit your pictures to make out like David Bailey took the shots (another golden oldie)
I'm a Z fold 6 user, and I'm not gonna expect massive changes to the Z fold series this year, unless they use the SE edition, but I'd hate that phone if it still doesn't have Bluetooth capabilities with the S pen, or just don't use one, but let's see
