Hi everyone,

 

I'm having trouble getting Gemini to work with Samsung's native apps like Notes and Messages. It seems to work intermittently when I type, but the live function doesn't work at all when I try to use voice commands. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any suggestions or solutions would be greatly appreciated!

What phone are you using

The main messaging service now is Google messages, even though Samsung messages is installed on you phone, but really not sure why they still use Samsung messages

Check if there are any updates for Gemini and check for play store updates

Gemini is good but I still like Bixby and wish Samsung improved it instead of pushing out Gemini.

I did read something on Reddit about Gemini and Samsung apps, I'll search and send a link to hopefully help you out

I'm using the Galaxy S25, which I received yesterday!

 

I've already checked the Gemini version, made sure my phone is fully updated, all my apps are up to date as well, and everything is properly authorized in Gemini's settings...

 

I keep seeing lots of videos on YouTube and elsewhere where everything works perfectly fine, even for people with the same setup as mine, and they have no issues at all...

 

So I'm wondering what I might be doing wrong...

@Members_3ThLffb: Please can you clarify what actions you are attempting to perform on the Samsung Notes and Messages app using Gemini? Google Messages has its own dedicated Gemini button, while Samsung Notes can create, show and manage notes through Gemini commands. Can you provide an example of the voice commands you are issuing, and whether you receive any errors or notifications when the commands aren't successful?

Gemini Live isn't designed to use any apps or functions on your device. Only Gemini Nano (the Gemini part that works natively on your device) can fulfill direct app commands. Gemini Live is designed purely as a conversational AI and can not do any actions within your device (yet).
