Issues with FB Messenger on Galaxy S25???

Hello, I recently got a Galaxy S25 about a week or two ago, and have been pretty happy with it.  I set up FB Messenger and it seemed to be working fine.

A couple days ago, I went to send my friend a picture I took, from within FB Messenger by clicking the attach photo icon on the bottom of Messenger, and it brings up a blank screen.  It seems really weird and inconsistent.  Sometimes I see "All photos" at the top left and "HD Off" on the top right, and if I click All photos I can see folders like Camera, Download, etc, and the Icon for the Camera folder has my most recent pic on it, but then I click the folder and just see a blank white screen again.

I have also tried to go about it the other way, where I find the photo in the Google Gallery, and then share it to a chat in Messenger... and once I click that it just spins forever and never lets me pick from a list of my friends.

Also I'm pretty positive some of the text messages I sent in messenger, that seemed to me like they sent, did not actually send.

-

I have tried various trouble shooting things, including uninstalling Messenger, and reinstalling it - which seemed to work.  BUT, it's not super long after I did that and here I am having the same issues again!

Help please!

Hi @OBjuan

Welcome to the community forum.

You could try clearing the App's cache.

Settings -> Apps -> FB messenger -> Force stop (bottom right corner)

Scroll to Storage and tap it.

tap Clear cache (bottom right corner).

Start app as usual.

You might also like to try clearing the cache partition.

  • Turn off the phone.
  • Connect phone to a PC or another phone using USB port.
  • Press Power/Side button and Volume up until Samsung logo appears, then release power.
  • The phone should boot on recovery mode, use Volume keys to navigate, power key to select.
  • Navigate to Clear cache partition, select it, navigate to Yes, select.
  • Reboot the phone.

This is a software issue, had similar issue with WhatsApp. They fixed it in an update, and this has happened several times

You can wait or contact FB, bring they all from Meta I can only suggest waiting for update

This exact same problem has happened to me too. Tried reinstalling, turning off chat heads and also force closing the app with no joy.
