I'm not sure if this is a Samsung choice or a Google choice but I find it very hard to read black text on grey icons.. eg the battery level in the menu bar..

Could be the theme you are using.
Or dark mode setting
I don't have this myself
Try tapping and holding the main screen
Go into wallpaper and style
Maybe have a play with the colours palette

During the S24 Beta, I was one of many who fed back about the battery pill

Sadly Samsung haven't changed it 😮

@MarkFawcett3: If you're having some trouble making out the text on your device, you may wish to explore your options in Settings > Accessibility > Vision enhancements, to see if this helps. For instance, take a look at the Display mode, High contrast theme, High contrast fonts, Colour inversion and Colour filter, and add shortcuts where available so you're able to switch between modes with ease.

Or just remove the poorly designed pill, it's not accessible and it looks ridiculous
