Heyo all. Seems one of the new device bugs has shown up. The Google wallet app doesn't allow contactless to be setup on any card.

A quick search shows I'm not the only one, so it seems the security that handles contactless hasn't been updated to support the new phones. Or at least the banks haven't allowed it yet.

Samsung pay works just fine, though the number of supported banks are lower.

I believe all my cards that fail use master card

Interesting. I'm starting to think this looks like a MasterCard issue seeing as all visa cards add fine

I have an update from my bank regarding this issue. They said "
I would like to inform you that when you are adding your card to the digital wallet, a number of checks are completed between the bank, the card scheme and the wallet provider. We reserve the right to not allow the card to be added following these checks.
We recommend that you try again after 30 days. However, in the meantime you can continue to use your card to transact.
Apologies for the inconvenience caused."
Which means absolutely nothing... Welp, guess we just have to wait as google and banks both won't fix it.

Tried a visa card, didn't work either but said network error instead of a nornal failure. Tried wifi, data, vpn. Its not a network error on my end

Word for word that is what RBS have replied to me, it's not even an answer or even an acknowledgement, just a holding statement. I'm no closer and more frustrated.

I can confirm that this happens to only MasterCards on my side.

I would gladly use Samsung Pay and I am. However, theres just that 1 Mastercard which only supports Google Wallet right now, and it can't be added.
I guess waiting is the solution??

The problem is the phone or software. I re added it first time to my S23. My tokens are fine with the bank. S25 have messed up somewhere. Waiting for the first update.

Same problem. I have tried every single different algorithm even resorting to a forced reboot. Nothing works! I think all we can do is wait for the next software update which has to address this problem that many people are experiencing.

Honestly, I'm completely fine waiting for an update.

What I would actually like is someone to acknowledge the problem, so we can anticipate a fix for real.

I had this same problem, got the terrible hold email from my bank to wait thirty days to try again, seems whatever they needed to do they have because it connected just fine a few days ago. So might be worth trying again. You bank may have updated it's systems.

I'm having the same issue (Feb 25, 2025).

I decided to clear play services and re-install wallet. I can't add any cards now.
