Google pay seemingly broken s25

Heyo all. Seems one of the new device bugs has shown up. The Google wallet app doesn't allow contactless to be setup on any card.

A quick search shows I'm not the only one, so it seems the security that handles contactless hasn't been updated to support the new phones. Or at least the banks haven't allowed it yet.

Samsung pay works just fine, though the number of supported banks are lower.

And have you tried setting them up as new rather than existing cards

I have. It seems to me the banks have yet to accept the S25 in their security system. I shall call them tomorrow and hopefully sort it out.

I've added 3 Lloyds cards, curve and BoA with no issues 🤷

I've managed to get Google Pay set up with mine; however, I had to contact my bank to authorize its use, as it wouldn't allow it to be authorized through app only.

HSBC worked fine here in the  UK, but Tesco credit card won't work at all. 

Asked tesco to reset my tokens and still doesn't work. Just can't add it and keep refusing.

Guessing banks have an allow list for known safe phones. They're just slow to add the brand new ones. Glad you have one that works though

HSBC and Revolut worked fine here in the UK. Tesco credit card won't work though and can't add it. I've even called the provider and asked them to reset my tokens and it still won't work.

I had to jump through hoops, as I do every year with a new phone, for my Dutch Bank ING.  I haven't used my phone yet to make payments, but it's all set up in the app and registered with Google Pay.  I'm not expecting any issues.

Hey, thanks. I've tried the normal reboot but it didn't help. After the forced reboot you've mentioned (volume down + power button for ~7 seconds) and turning the device on again I can finally add my cards to the google wallet.
