When I open the Camera app, just have a black screen. App will eventually just close on its own. Have tried resetting phone, Camera, clearing data/cache multiple times, no luck. Strange thing is that it did work fine when I first powered on the phone. Eventually tried a full factory data reset and the camera still would not work.

Eventually went to a Verizon stores and had them send me a new phone. When I start transferring my SIM to the new phone, the camera starts working on the old one! Thinking the old one may fail again, still send it back. Now one day in, the new phone's camera does the same thing - black screen, app shuts off. Thinking there has to be a different issue happening. Camera lenses look fine on both phones, 3rd party camera

apps both do not work. Camera also fails in safe mode. No idea what else to do, coming here for help.

Hello 👋 @abenton4146

Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum Section for UK and Ireland Members.

Personally I'd try the following.

1. Https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/    { apologies I've just noticed you've tried this}

2. Clear the cache of the camera by holding down the app icon and tap on i and then storage and clear cache.

3. Factory reset but don't use any back up to set the phone back up.

4. Ask for another replacement but don't jse any back up to reset the phone back up.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

Having 1 phone exhibit this would probably prompt an unlucky defect. Having 2 phones do the exact same issue suggests you may have some software issues with the camera either perhaps an app you install or use. It goes without saying too, ensure nothing is obstructing the camera lenses.

You mention Verizon, I guessing your US based. I would post you issues on the US community as they better placed to assist and or go back to Verizon
