Extremely Disappointed with S Pen on Galaxy S25 Ultra

I recently purchased the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, expecting it to be an improvement over previous models. However, I was extremely disappointed to discover that the S Pen no longer has Bluetooth functionality, meaning I can’t use it as a remote shutter for the camera or perform air gestures.
This change makes the S Pen almost useless for me. One of the main reasons I chose the Ultra series was for these functionalities, and now they are completely gone. If I had known this before buying, I would have never purchased this phone.
Right now, the S Pen feels like just a basic stylus, which is a huge downgrade. This decision has completely ruined my experience, and I feel like I wasted my money on a feature that no longer provides real value.
I hope Samsung acknowledges this mistake and finds a way to improve the S Pen functionality, because in its current state, it’s just disappointing.

This was extensively reported on. Reviews pointing this out and even on the community here.
I'm very surprised this news has passed by you.
I guess you didn't look into the phone before purchasing it.

Basically the function was so little used by most of the units sold. So it's a case of use it or lose it.
There are plenty of other ways to capture photos or purchase a Bluetooth button to act as a remote shutter button.

Hi! I understand the disappointment. However, something like 1% of people actually used the S Pen's Bluetooth features.

Before spending £1500 on a device, make sure to do some research. This was reported everywhere; it was no secret.

Personal recommendation—use a Chipolo tag.

*It's a Bluetooth tag that can be used to take photos, as well as its ordinary function of a close-by tracker.

Knew about the change as it was published widely. I used maybe once or twice. Nice gimmick I thought and forgot about it. Not missing it

Though I don't disagree with Samsung saying only 1% of people actually used the Bluetooth features, I don't see that as a reason to remove them. I see that as an excuse for what to me is a cost cutting exercise.

It was absolutely to cut costs, but that makes sense to me. "Nobody" used it, so makes sense to chuck it. Though it may seem small, on x amount of devices, even cutting out such a small thing can reduce an insane amount of cost, which can be put elsewhere.

The loss of Bluetooth on the SPen was widely reported before the devices were released.

Not many used the functionality in the end.
