Hi I have tried to trade in my 15 pro max the American site allows this but the UK site doesn't and the iPhone 15 pro max isn't the newest model. You can swap a 24 ultra which is a flagship model and more new than the iPhone 15 pro phones

@kimmyc57: I can confirm that the latest iPhone model available to trade in for the Galaxy S25 Series is the iPhone 14 Series. Apologies for any disappointment this may cause you.

I personally think this is very disappointing. Samsung is always trying to promote the Samsung range to new customers, and then an actual iPhone user hits a brick wall. Furthermore, this is ridiculous!
Samsung just sends a new customer away. And God knows how many more.

This is absolutely 💯 ridiculous. This is beyond comprehension. Samsung just lost one new customer, and god knows how many others.
Come on, samsung, do your market research!

Actually, reading this story i entirely agree with you @smg1.

I am clearly a fan of the Samsung devices, but this is poor form by Samsung.

We spend a lot of time and effort in the community and encouraging users to come over to Samsung from the other side 🍎 🍏... and then ultimately unable to carry out a trade in of a current apple device.

Whilst i spend a lot of time defending Samsung at times on here, I am pretty shocked by this stance. 😞

Of course i have my own preorder in and I enjoy using my own Samsung devices everyday, but there is no defending Samsung in this instance. 😔

Well when you think about it.
Most that have the newer iphones will be in a two year contract. So the available customers with the newer phones will be very small.
But concentrating more on older iPhone models, these customers will be for the most part out of contract and those phones paid off.
As its a third party company that will run the promotion and recycle traded in devices. It's going to make more business sense to focus efforts on easier on older phones

Personally I would think maybe give a limited option. But might not make any profit doing that

I guess these values for traded phones and accepted models may actually be defined by recycling companies and not necessarily samsung themselves.

However by a similar reasoning, it is like the s24ultra model not being accepted in the list of trade phones as it is only last years model. The iPhone 15 pro was released in September 2023, so this was 4 months earlier than S24uitra.

Anyhow, there are other options available like selling the IPhone 15 pro on the second hand market, or contacting a recycling company directly, so all is not lost.

I am always happy when someone decides to switch to Samsung but when barriers get in the way it is disappointing.
