Since 3 days ago, my Bluetooth headphones have been connecting to my phone but no sound comes out of them. After spending a lot of time trying to correct the issue I have found that it does not work when the AAC codec for Bluetooth is on. It works with SBC and SSC but not AAC. Can anyone advise me on how I can fix this sudden loss of AAC audio? It is very annoying having to restart my phone every time it stops working or having to go to developer options to change the codec.

Hello 👋 @snej7478

It might help Members here if you can confirm which make and model of Bluetooth Headphones 🎧 your using.

It is the Sony whch720n but when I used the aac for my galaxy buds 3 the same issue occurred. I filed a report and also spoke to customer service but they said it must be compatibility issues but it definitely is a phone issue as the headphones work on multiple other devices with AAC.

I have had the same problem the last few days! I generally use the Jabra Elite 85t earbuds, but I tried my Bose QC earbuds and didn't get any audio from them either. A restart of the phone fixes it every time.

Not sure if it's related, but my alarm stopped going off as well. I generally have it set to play from a Spotify playlist. The first few days I thought I just slept through it, but after looking into it, it turns out the alarm was "going off", but not playing any sound or vibrating. This was also resolved by restarting the phone.

I  don't know anything about AAC, but it sounds like a similar issue.

That's so strange. I was on a chat with Samsung support and none of the troubleshooting issues seemed to work. If you do to developer options and go to Bluetooth codec change it to sbc when the problem occurs and see if the sound returns. I have seen that when I change it to sbc the audio returns but otherwise on aac setting it doesn't work. I'll see if I have any similar alarm issues and reply.

Same thing is happening to me on my BMW Bluetooth audio too. The audio is connected to aac and the only way to fix it is to restart my s25 ultra. The calls work fine but music there's no sound it stops working until a restart

Do you have the same issue where the sound tends to disappear after a call. For others with the issues in the car they've said it was due to an app called flitsmeister(not too familiar with it as I don't have it). Others have said it is an issue with WhatsApp so you can have a go at force restarting them and see if anything fixes but it'll mot likely be temporary. Hopefully they get it fixed ASAP.

I don't have flitsmeister or whatever it's called and I didn't try WhatsApp or anything but I will give that a try when I'm in the car. And yes after a call it doesn't play and also if it's playing and I get out the car and then get back in the car after 5 mins then the audio will keep playing on my phone as it's supposed to do when it detects Bluetooth but there's no sound coming from the speakers. I have to restart my phone after that.

This was fine until a few weeks ago. When I first got the phone I had zero issues so an update has caused this for me

Interesting that you pointed this out. I just noticed yesterday getting off of a WhatsApp call caused the issue as well. I was listening to music on my phone with headphones with no issues. I got a WhatsApp call, had the conversation through the headphones with no problem, but once the call was over, the music wouldn't play again until I went back into developer options and switched back to SBC.

Yes that's exactly what has been happening to me too. When did your issues start? When the issue first started I contacted Samsung support and they said I'd need to get a repair but seeing as many people have the issue it must be software related weirdly.
