The AI don't like you meddling 😊
You can't be too much in control.
You could harm the phone.
You could harm yourself if you put into the self destruction code .
You'd be out of pocket then.
Its too much of risk.

It's been known for phones that are released in to different regions not accepting such codes @WinstonSmith
Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.
The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

In my experience earlier this year i had a main sim card with O2 UK, and the short codes worked fine. I.e the *#06# for imei number and others.
As a trial I wanted to give ID mobile a go, to check their network coverage. When I added the IdMobile sim card, for some reason the codes stopped working.
All the time the IDmobile sim card was in the phone tray, these USSD codes no longer worked. As soon as I removed it again, the codes began to work again.
It is strange but seemed to be down to the ID mobile (on three) sim card.
Smiley.

This worked for me.
Go to Settings - > Security and Privacy - > Auto Blocker and turn if off. You should be able to use codes after that.
Please review what auto blocker does before disabling it since it is an additional security measure.
