Use of Samsung S24u for filming videos

I am intending to film my short stories using my S24u phone before I venture into anything expensive. I've already got an idea to create lighting using a paper lantern over an LED smart bulb. Great idea, by the way.

Going forward, has anyone done something similar? Any suggestions, tips, advice, and links would be most welcome.

It's early stages so cost is important.

Anything you need to know specifically? What will you be filming specifically? I started years ago filming with smartphones and still do sometimes.

Some quick fire recommendations:

- don't zoom whilst recording, either pause and change lens or start a new video.
- set and lock white balance so it doesn't shift during recording (consider using pro video for more manual options)
- 4k30 looks more cinematic than 60fps, but consider using 60fps for slow mo in post
- always consider framing, movement, what's your A roll and B roll, angles, locations
- editing is important - and time consuming, try to help your future self out by considering the edit before and whilst filming
- enjoy!

I'm going to be recording another music video on my phone later this year (likely on the S25 ultra now) it's really enjoyable.

Once you get more into filming, I find the Blackmagic camera app really good to fine tune your recordings
