One UI 7 update messed up my phone.

It's been almost 2 weeks, and I've tried every possible troubleshooting method/ work around, hack or trick. The only thing I haven't done is uninstall the new update or a complete device reset.  Wanted to be thorough before posting. First 3 days everything was normal except I did noticed an increase the battery drain. 4th day onwards was the equivalent of walking blindfolded through a minefield. Touch screen is a Russian roulette game, previous customizations with apps no longer work or have reset,  i spent days setting my preferences in each app and installing certain features for enhanced performance, frame rate, background usage, etc and now it's all *****. Main issues that i could not fix or can't delete because it's vital is overheating very fast, multiple crashes and freezes in certain apps,  phone brightness now has issues with certain themes/wallpapers that make the screen darker with no way to enhance, certain games lag or just close mid game regardless of updating performance (even went through developer app) battery life is non existent, screen resolution and display size vary with different apps, some can't be resized to fit at all and if you try to x out of an additional or drag down menu or access split screen it will crash or automatically switch to multi screen view in landscape mode. Android auto is 50/50. AI voice activation/ talk to text is glitching, calls and notifications are sometimes muted or don't register, fingerprint biometrics sometimes doesn't register or won't unlock,  every attempt to use device health or optimization says everything is perfect. Device care and battery usage not registering any problems and soft reset didn't solve anything.

there's a lot more but i honestly feel like a whiny child complaining as it is and I don't like posting negative comments or issues but i hope this helps others and can be informative.

Quick thing, did you write one ui 6.1 by accident? The big update recently was one ui 7. If you just got 6.1 now, there's a much larger problem with your updates.

I'd do a smart switch backup to your pc, then go try stuff. That would allow you to restore everything to the backup.

Also don't try to uninstall updates, most of the time the phone will not allow the downgrade and the other times it will just update shortly after.

It sounds like previous customisation are no longer valid, compatible or possible

I use swipe or glide on the Samsung keyboard as it's easier for me then typing each letter individually. There are now some areas on my touch screen that don't register my touch or sometimes I will type a specific letter and it will put the letter next to it, below it, or above it. Kinda like the calibration is off of that makes sense. This only happens when I try to type while the phone is very hot, however that's basically all the time now.

In the support section of this app, run the diagnostics. It should show some issues and maybe ideas how to sort then. Touch screen issues are kinda hard to give ideas and tips for as it's usually hardware related

That's the issue, I've run diagnostics test multiple times a day and other them a sensor issue every now and then it shows everything is fine when it obviously isn't. Same with device care and optimization, says no background apps are open, no apps are draining the battery, no apps using to much data, etc. And yet my phone is on 15% and it was on 65% and I've only been using it for 20 min, as it won't let me charge it currently because of safety reasons and the phone needs to cool down

I'd bite the bullet and do a new fresh install, delete everything and start again,it's all you have left I'm afraid,we all hate doing this as it means you have to spend yonks setting everything up again I know I hate it.
I"ve only once had this happen to me in Samsung ownership with my old 10 note, everything got screwed up..fone overheating/fingerprints not responding/apps crashing/phone slow as a slug ect.
You seem to have done everything a pro would have tried...last resort hit the reset everything button..I had to and it sorted my issues out..that note 10 still works fine to this day but have since moved on to a s24 ultra.

I just got UI 7 on my work phone.  I will do everything I can to avoid installing it on my personal phone.

I am very interested in using other apps to emulate UI 6.  I saw another post saying use Samsung Good Lock, but that appears to be a 3rd party app (not Samsung).  Can you outline what things you tried that didn't work?  Hopefully we can all find a way to fix the user interface to something we find tolerable and disseminate that solution to the proliferation of complaint threads.
