Trying to paste after copying link in Chrome error

Samsung S24FE.

New phone. Unable to paste links that have been copied from Chrome into any app... not Gmail, Facebook etc.

Pressing harder comes up with paste option. When clicked it says "copied to clipboard" when it should be pasting from the clipboard. 

How to solve this problem?

The link doesn't show in the email body. This is the same in every app.

That is security alert when any app access the clipboard. Disable it under settings/security and privacy / control and alerts / alert when clipboard is accessed

Thanks. That got rid of the message. It still doesn't paste the copied website link into the Gmail app...
