Hi all,

Is it just my phone or the compass in S24 Ultra is a total disaster? How is it possible that in all other phones I have side by side (Realme 9 Pro+, iPhone SE 2020, iPhone 16 Pro) the accuracy of pointing north is quite good. The best is in Realme (LOL) but in S24 Ultra is like disaster. With phone located in a same manner. It is 7 NE in Realme ,10 NE (iPhone 16 Pro), 20 NE (iPhone SE 2020) and watch it... 61 NE (in S24 Ultra). And when I try to calibrate it takes likes 2 seconds (I wonder why so short), and same result. Of course tested without any magnets around or case. What is important to note: iPhone, even with magnets has same accuracy (10 NE (iPhone 16 Pro), 20 NE (iPhone SE 2020)). And I noticed that trying to do Astrophoto. And it is quite annoying for such expensive device to show such inaccurate results.

Hello @Pablito4 and may I extend a Warm Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum Section for Uk and Eu Members 👋

I can only speak for my Samsung Galaxy s²⁴ Ultra which works fine.

If the diagnostic tool found in your Samsung Members App does not highlight anything then a Samsung Service Centre might be able to.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Sadly, I can confirm that the campus on my s24 is partially dysfunctional as well. Which makes following Google maps a bit of a headache. Even after calibrating, it's about 20° out of sync

Well, I have both the 24Ultra and the Ultra watch and even after calibration,  both devices are never in agreement...I never know which one to trust  🤷🏽

Thank You for replying guys. So yesterday I made comparison with 2 friends having Galaxy S23 Ultra nad Galaxy S24 Ultra (S24U bought shortly after premiere). Guess what. S23Ultra points North perfectly, another S24 Ultra points identicaly to mine. So either there is a software problem or cheap/faulty components used. Thank You for making me aware of that diagnostic tool. Used it - no problems found.

We have all, at one time or another, lost our direction in life.  This is simply part of the human condition.

I have the same issue with my S24 (non Ultra). If I could return it I would. The S23 worked fine. Factory reset doesn't help. Calibration makes no difference. It makes my star map apps impossible to use. I wonder if it's a hardware issue or if we could hope for a software update to fix it all?

I wonder if all S24 Exynox phones experience this or if we should try to get ours replaced?

Mine is also useless S24u. Wildly out making star maps and plane tracking live view impossible. Google maps is tricky

Worst phone I've ever had for this, and it's a so called flagship phone.

My Garmin watch does a better job.. As does my wife's pixel
