Hi all,
Is it just my phone or the compass in S24 Ultra is a total disaster? How is it possible that in all other phones I have side by side (Realme 9 Pro+, iPhone SE 2020, iPhone 16 Pro) the accuracy of pointing north is quite good. The best is in Realme (LOL) but in S24 Ultra is like disaster. With phone located in a same manner. It is 7 NE in Realme ,10 NE (iPhone 16 Pro), 20 NE (iPhone SE 2020) and watch it... 61 NE (in S24 Ultra). And when I try to calibrate it takes likes 2 seconds (I wonder why so short), and same result. Of course tested without any magnets around or case. What is important to note: iPhone, even with magnets has same accuracy (10 NE (iPhone 16 Pro), 20 NE (iPhone SE 2020)). And I noticed that trying to do Astrophoto. And it is quite annoying for such expensive device to show such inaccurate results.

S24 ultra is the last Samsung phone I'm buying. Hard resets that seem to have stopped for no reasons. Crashes to homepage at seemingly specific times, on the hour for example. Now a compass that's dodgy. Only upgraded because my note 20 was playing up.
Google pixels is where it's at.

Navigating on foot with the S24 Ultra is frustrating due to compass inaccuracies. I replaced my Xiaomi Mi 8 with the S24 Ultra and I'm not satisfied with the navigation at all.

Hi! Any news on that? Im affeced too. Gmaps or Stellarium clearly show issues. Calibration seems to randomly help for a while...

Same problem for me.
Compass is totally off. Calibration doenst help. It shows high accuracy but its way off.
Sky map it useless now.

I can absolutely confirm the issue with the S24 Ultra – it's incredibly frustrating, especially when you're traveling on foot and relying on precise navigation. The compass often feels totally unreliable, and it makes simple things like orienting yourself in a new city unnecessarily difficult.
Interestingly, I’ve noticed it’s much less of a problem when I’m on an eScooter – probably because the motion is strong and consistent enough for the phone to figure out the direction more accurately. And in the car using Android Auto, everything seems fine – but I suspect that's because the position and direction data are coming from the vehicle itself, which are typically way more accurate.
What’s really disappointing is that issues like this seem to be completely ignored by Samsung – you can see it from all the similar posts in this community that never get a real solution or proper response. For such an expensive flagship phone, that’s honestly unacceptable.

I will give Samsung one last chance to fix this with the upcoming update in april (Android 15, One UI 7, etc.). If it's still the same after that I will sell my S24 and never buy a Samsung phone again.

Unlikely to get fixed in a firmware update.
I believe its hardware in some devices.

You were right. No improvement after the latest major update. This phone is going up for sale and the next one will be a Pixel.

So after reading all these, it seems i'm not alone! Just checking sunrise in my area, and have a Tab S7 + 5G & S24Ultra side by side and both with x2 completely different readings!
Wow Samsung. I'm disgusted. You'd think after, i dunno over 2,000yrs, ya might ave cracked something so simple....
