The speakers on the S24 series are extremely uncomfortable to listen to due to their overly harsh sound.

I recently got the Galaxy S24+, and I’ve noticed that the speakers sound overly harsh and bright—it’s quite uncomfortable to listen to. I’ve had to apply some EQ adjustments just to make the audio more bearable, but it’s still unpleasant to my ears.

I also visited a Samsung store to compare the S24 series with other models. Interestingly, the S24 lineup sounds noticeably different from both the S23 and the newer S25 series.

Only the S24 series exhibits this harshness in the speakers.

I am surprised to hear that, when I had my S24 Ultra it didn't sound that bad, im wondering if a firmware update has affected the speakers? Just a guess, have you tried running a diagnostic test on your speakers?

I did. At first, I thought there was something wrong with my speaker, but every S24 series I tested at the shop sounded just like mine.

My previous phones, the S23 and A52s, both had noticeably better speaker sound quality compared to my new S24+.

I wish I still had my s24 ultra to compare with my s25 ultra, so I could check it out, but I certainly take your word for it, just curious myself now.

I have an S24 FE and I must say, this phone is the best I've owned so far. I love everything about it. Regarding the speaker, the automatic EQ is off and it's uncomfortable for me to listen too. So I understand where you're coming from. However, I have changed the Dolby to 'music' and saved my hearing profile which helped. I suggest doing that. Also, I suggest playing around with the Equaliser and adjusting that to how it sounds best to you. Hope this helps 😊

I tried, it did not make the sound any better, the highs are still very harsh.

I suggest maybe get in touch with Samsung Repair. Maybe they can see what the problem is and resolve it. Maybe that batch of speakers from the manufacturer was a different spec to others used for other batches when they made the phone that has given a different sound to others. After this, I am at a loss. Maybe get your ears tested too? 🤪

Update: I did some digging on the Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu, many other users are experiencing the same issue.

My S24 FE is the same - harsh sound at max volume, instead of smooth and natural. My S22 Ultra sounds more smooth and natural than the S24 FE. Dolby Atmos is useless on the FE, no matter which preset you used, it either doesn't improve the speakers at all or it remains the same but worse. Massive downgrade to the S23 FE!
