Tap search to open app

Hi There, I've been using iOS since now and I really like the way you can search and open the app from tap of search icon from bottom search bar itself rather than tapping on app icon itself. 

Not sure why Oneui7 don't have it. Or it's small but really convenient feature.

It's because it's Samsung and not Apple. Apple typically mimick Samsung features years down the line, so it's unsurprising for Samsung to do the same with Apple. Just give it a generation or 2 and I'm sure we'll see something emerge 😬

I have never used IOS so am confused, are you saying that the search option bypasses the widget and just opens the app directly? Or that it will take you to the app widget? Cos there's an option for that which will take you to the app on Samsungs, also the side bar will take you to apps etc.

@luckyflyn: Further to the above, if you swipe up from your Home screen > Tap on the search bar at the bottom of the screen, then search for the relevant app, then you can open the app via the icon that appears in the results.

Thanks for your reply. My point is that you will have to open it via tapping on the searched app. Rather than that you can just tap on search 🔍 icon in bottom bar and the matched app will open.

I understand, so what I mean is like you found the matching app but you can just tap on search icon and it'll open the first app .

As a tech enthusiast I like both but I agree Android in general is way ahead ...

Ok, guess that could be useful but not sure what the difference is between tapping the search icon and tapping the app? Still seems the same amount of effort?
