I recently received a replacement s24 ultra for my first one that had banding/grain issues. The second phone seems almost worse. Has anyone had any success at all exchanging their phone? Is this grain an issue an update can solve? Does samsung care about these grain issues at all?

There are some existing threads on the forum in regards to this problem that some owners are finding. Perhaps conduct a forum search to look at these b

Personally with my phone I don't see this.

If your unhappy with your current phone then I'd suggest to swap it out if your in the relevant cooling off period or if not ask Samsung Support for assistance.

If I can be of any further help then please don't hesitate to ask.  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

A post on the US conmunity members site raises this issue and suggests that the banding problem is down to the  s24 ultra/S24 series using a default colour space for SDR content. On the  previous devices they used DCIP3 colours  across the device contents --- for  futher detail see the following:

Like the banding issue many users worldwide face, I am also facing a grainy screen problem.

Samsung's attitude about this issue is disappointing. Many people worldwide write about this problem on forum websites and contact service centers, and we only get "it is normal for AMOLED screens" as an answer.

This is not the first time in our lives we have used AMOLED screens. This is called the Mura effect, and you know it. Moreover, you know this is not normal. There is no such issue on the S23 Ultra or iPhone when you give them the screens.

The Mura effect is not just a problem when we use the phone indoors with dark themes. Watching films/TV series with dark scenes , etc., is disgusting.

This cannot be normal for a phone that claims to have the "best screen ever." Even watching films or using dark themes on the A52s is better.

If Samsung keeps this attitude, they are going to lose many customers.

I bought mine in spain the quality on everything was well perfect n i loved it but when watching movies now, in the dark areas you could see grainy colors very visible and because of that i was so disappointed, so i sold the phone seeing i didn't notice the problem in time for a return, then i bought another one thinking its better but it was worse , this time not only the movie problem but the whole display was a mess and i returned it to Amazon
