Normally if a phone is getting hot, ( over heating) you will get a warning and the phone will shut down. Are you sure it's not just getting warm? Especially if it's charging while in use, it may well just be getting warm and not over heating.

Hi @Subramanyam

There is a diagnostic test tool found in your Samsung Members App to see if that highlights anything.

Other than that you could try >

Clear Cache Files from the phone's System Partition Section  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to insert your earphones or hook upto a powered On Laptop or use a Tv's USB Port to access the Clear Partition Section. This may help with lag or stutters as this clears the phone of old/unused or broken cache files.There is also a Repair Apps option in the Menu System too { Possibly excluding the s²⁴ Series of phone's }

And

Safe Mode  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/ turns off downloaded apps and themes etc which may highlight an app or theme that's causing conflict. Alternatively long press the power off button and then long hold on Turn Off to get to Safe Mode.

Try a forced reboot by holding down the volume down key and power button simultaneously for more than 7 seconds to restart it. When your phone resets, you will feel it vibrate.

If you perform a forum search you may find existing threads with some further help or guidence within.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

In addition to the suggestions above, there is a samsung app available called 'good guardians' that can be installed for free from the samsung store.

This app gives a graphical analysis of the temperature of the phone, and it will also give you some level of controls to ensure it either does not heat up as much, or to give it more temperature range.

It would be good to see whether you are hitting the higher temperatures as mentioned.

Thanks

I think many of us experienced more heat from the devices for the first week or so, I certainly did and was concerned at first.

I've learnt, and worth noting that heat is being removed from the chip, through the vapor chamber and dispersed across the back of the phone, this is what it's designed to do. (It's also a power processor)

The other thing is that feeling warm (or even hot at times) doesn't necessarily mean 'over heating' - as Fiona26 says you would get a warning if it's an issue.

The battery goes through a learning cycle so genuinely would anticipate it will settle over the next couple of weeks 👍

I wish Samsung embeds both Goodlock and GoodGuardians in their UI 7 😇

Phone will get hot at times, it happened to me just recent after an update. Huge amount of processing during that time im guessing. I just turn the phone off for 5 mins and when I powered up again the issue was gone.
Yor phone is an electrical device with quite alot of grunt, with processing at that high rate will expel heat and hopely through the vapour chamber as mentioned @GusB and other members on here
