Hello. Just yesterday I received a 900mb + software update on my s24u.Honesly I was hoping for better focus  optimization  and intelligent optimization  but this is not changed.

So basically focus isn't focusing on whole object, lets say I'm trying to take a pic of my Dragon Figure  ( its like 10 cm tall ) and focus only focusing on his face not on whole body, Its feels like I'm doing a picture on portrait mode when focus is only on face, well on normal mode, focus is only focusing on one thing instead of whole thing like In my figure for example ,so when some object has face, focus is getting crazy and I cant literally make full clean picture . It was already 3 updates and nothing honestly has been changed regards camera, at least I did not feel any difference. Speaking of intelligent optimization  , when this setting is on maximum or even medium, the effects are so awful, like brightness level is so weird, I feel like I'm looking into sun  ,pictures on minimum intelligent optimization  looks way better , well is intelligent optimization  should look better ?Well yes but sadly not on s24u and you cant turn it off completely as well .I really don't like this effect , making picture to bright, which honestly makes picture looks less sharp and clear , each of camera feature should make amazing pictures , but my s21 ultra makes better pictures.

its crazy how  15 hundred pounds phone makes so bad pictures, like its better to get your self a used s21 ultra for max 200£ and you are more then better.

At last if you paying that much money for the phone it should be perfect out of the box, but instead of that you can struggle with focus and fake looking intelligent optimization .

I was always really satisfied with Samsung phones until I tried s24 u, I hope this will get fixed but after those 3 updates I'm  not really expecting anything .

Any one is feeling the same ? or is just me? I get replacements device 2 times as I was thinking I definitely received a bad one, but no, each of this phones has this issue which I described .

Hi.

Have tried either turning the tracking auto focus ON or OFF and see if it makes a difference.

The S24 ultra does have a lot of new stuff and can be a learning curve.

Coming from my most loved s21 ultra, I like the new lens lay out and so far am quite happy with the phone.

I just got the phone cause of the preorder offers, really, and I never really like the boxy designs.

But other bits are great so far.

Love the 4k video on all lenses.
5x is more usable for me as a portrait shooter.

Do try tap to focus.

I've been with Samsung for ages now. And they really take their own sweet time to fix stuff, but they do it and break some.

But for me, they are better in most scenarios than others.

I am also a pixel fan, but now I feel Samsung is better.1711569353258.jpg

Hey I've beening receiving the same issue where now my phone camera focusing is absolutely ***** and doesn't focus on anything without it being a blurry mess before and after I take the photo, not to mention my S24ultra is killing my Galaxy buds fe battery life and not display battery percentage properly for it. Other issues are drop in connectivity for 5g, soemtimes no support for Smasung Ai generate help for pictures, battery life seems to be dying a bit quicker, and there's confirmation out there that samsung sold the first round of batches of S24ultras that they knew had hardware problems and refused to admitted or fix it until it was brought up at a samsung store.

Honestly this is just a mess, and I have to talk to a samsung store about asking for either a diagnostic on all of these problems or I'm gonna ask for a replacement phone be given to me because I believe I had received one of these first batch faulty phones from samsung.

There is countless threads complaining about these features.... Here's mine.

We are all in the same boat here it seems, my 8 year old Xiaomi Mi note 10 took better pictures and didn't have the forced post processing ruining photos, nevermind the vast inconsistencies between shooting modes (MP selection, zoom levels). And that phone was €300 new, not €1300.

Why image optimisation can't be switched off entirely is astounding, I'm sick of my photos looking like oil paintings and losing all detail after a second of post processing which is forced.

Where did you see mention of the confirmed hardware issue with pre release phones?

Yes I can share it wth you. S23 ultra used to take better pictures, both selfie and rear camera, optimization was the best on s23 ultra even if shutter speed was slow. In s24 ultra intelligent optimization ruins everything. Maximum optimization gives good photos but sometimes over processes it. Medium optimization does not give sharper images. Goodlock camera app is useless as it does not wotk properly with the phones in built camera settings. Its better to use without the gooflock app. Auto hdr in goodlock over brightens photos so I have switched it off. Night mode still sucks big time even after April 1 gb update - washed out photos. Grainy photos. Man what did you guys do. Dont follow Apple.

Another photo, eyes and eyebrows compeltely over processed in normal selfie mode with maximum intelligent optimization

I agree with this 100%. I take pictures the way I want. Please just let me take them. Give me a good non grainy camera so I can show the what I can do. I don't need your help. I miss my xiaomi 11t pro. It took better pictures than this. I'm still in my 14 days warrantee to return. Gonna try out for the next few days and if I don't like it, I will be returning it

Front facing camera is horrible. At night even with enough lighting, people are blurry and soft.

For a flagship this is unnaceptable.
