Ok, so I noticed a couple of problems on my S24U after the August update, it has been mentioned before, but now its on my phone too.💘

First problem. The first morning after update the signal triangle was showing 5G and full signal but there was no mobile data or signal on my phone, my phone did not update any notification for several hours over night and I could not call or message at all from my phone, I had to turn it on and off because restarting it didn't fix the issue. Currently it's working but the signal it's weaker than it used to be.

Second problem is that the battery is draining significantly faster, within about 5 hrs with the same usage, I can visually see how within minutes the battery drains 1%-2% very quickly from just browsing an Internet page, and from the same amount of battery I used to get 7-8 hrs or if I didn't use my phone much I could carry on to the next day with a very decent amount of battery... that's gone now since this last weekend.
I did wipe the cache post update and I am doing several device data optimization and apps optimization- not helping so far.

Please maybe Samsung can explain what is going on and if there a way to fix this. Thank you.

Typical Samsumg for you.

I found my battery took a hit after the July update.

At home on WiFi, it's still decent.

But travelling on holiday even in the UK gives me anxiety.

Poor signal, high brightness and camera usage drain it like mad.

Have to literally turn of mobile data and location while using camera as not to heat the phone or loose too much battery.

Not to mention they haven't fixed the 50MP yet.

You could try the app optimisation from good Guardians App and not to mention keep checking for app updates on both Samsung and Google stores.

Samsung has really treated the S24 series like a midrange device. It's been 7-8 months, and we are yet to receive a substantial update for battery and camera improvements. The last update we had with a "U" (upgrade), which wasn't just a security patch like the rest, was for tuning the vividness of the screen. I have learnt a lesson and that is never buy a phone for what it promises. The S24 series, particularly the exynos variants, are horrendous with mobile data. You may leave the house with a fully charged phone, and God help you if you use your GPS related apps. In about 4 hours, you might be left with 7%. They are so INEFFFICIENT on mobile data. They do ok on WiFi, but mobile data use cut through the battery life like cheese.

It's been a nice 6 months of happiness lol I really enjoyed the long battery life and I thought Snapdragon will be unbeatable, I hope Samsung is going to fix this update soon because it's a shame to cripple this beautiful GPU.

Thankfully the battery lasted quite well while the phone was used very lightly, although even so it's draining faster than befire, but as soon as I started to use it more it started to drain quicker.

For now it feels like 7 years of updates but not as many updates as before the S24 series when the phones were getting a considerable update every 3 months or so.

Within 24h of the August update on the s24Ultra I began having network issues. Signal will stay for about 30min to 45min then I'd lose network. Signal still showing. But says Emergency calls only. Replaced sim completed factory reset which can be a pain in itself. Still to no avail. Called samsung to get it repaired. I said I only started having issues since the update. They said we haven't heard or had any complaints. Waiting to see what the engineer does to fix the issue.

Idk but the S24U now has less issues with the signal now and if it loses signal it will work and recover very quickly, however, the Note 20 Ultra is losing signal properly, for a long time and the phone would not catch signal at all for even half an hour or more. The Note did not have signal issues before, it's the phone I am using as a back up. I am starting to believe that it's both a network and phone problem. I am on Vodafone, they used to be very good few months back when I switched to them from Three. I think sometimes they have problems with the WiFi signal too, usually I was blaming the WiFi, which is more prone to signal weakness and the phone signal works fine in my area.

The changes to predictive text is also very frustrating. This dyslexic did not have these issues before the update.
