So as previously mentioned in another post by someone else, there seems to be a recent issue with my S24+ front facing camera which is more prominent when taking a video. I have reached out to support and they said they will look into it but still not heard anything back.

This issue has been ongoing for a few weeks but this wasn't an issue before, it used to be fine. Whenever I take a video or even look into the viewfinder my front facing camera will distort. Like for example say, I am looking into the viewfinder and I go to put my hand in front of my face, my face will distort and start moving almost the same as how it looks when you have a filter on tiktok or something.

I have done a cache partition clear, I've reset my camera and have everything turned off and the same still happens. I tried booting in safemode and it still happens. If I go to other apps like tiktok or Instagram the issue is still there. I have tried locking the focus and it still is happening. It's really frustrating especially when I am taking a video and it's distorting.

Is anyone else experiencing this?? I can't find anything online about other users having this issue. Other than this post.

Here's a link to the other post:

@etherdust: Please can you try opening the Camera app > Switch to the front facing camera > Tap the 2 overlapping squares in the top right > Filters, and make sure that this is set to 'Original'.

If this isn't applicable, head to the Phone app > Dial *#0*# into the Keypad > Select 'Front cam' and take a few pictures as you would normally. Is the issue present during this test?

The filter was already set to original. I wonder if it's because we're only able to set the intelligent optimisation to minimal and not fully off which is really annoying and yeah did the test and it's still there. This issue is certainly worse than when I first got this phone, still not heard back since reporting the issue.

@etherdust: Have you submitted an Error Report via the Samsung Members app? If so, please allow time for the team to get back to you with their findings. As the issue was present in the Front cam test, this does suggest that you're experiencing a hardware issue, and this would require an engineer's inspection to get to the root of the problem. If this is the case, it will be flagged in the Error Report response, and you will be provided with instructions on how to arrange an inspection. Apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

@AndrewL Hi, yes that was how I made the error report. I hadn't heard anything back still so thought I'd reach out to see if others are also experiencing this issue. Hopefully I hear back soon

I've had issues with my front facing camera. Was trying to take a selfie and the camera just kept seriously lagging and the image on the screen just kept locking up, then the camera would crash. Went through all the diagnostics advised which made no difference and I had to drop the phone in for an engineer to look at. The repair worked for a few weeks, but the problem is now back. I think it's since the most recent software update. I'm not happy that I've spent a lot of money on this phone and have been with Samsung since 2016. I honestly think this is my last phone with then and I'll switch manufacturer next time I get a new phone.

I have the exact same issue. It's annoying! It looks like I'm using a filter and it's glitching.
