@etherdust: Please can you try opening the Camera app > Switch to the front facing camera > Tap the 2 overlapping squares in the top right > Filters, and make sure that this is set to 'Original'.
If this isn't applicable, head to the Phone app > Dial *#0*# into the Keypad > Select 'Front cam' and take a few pictures as you would normally. Is the issue present during this test?

@etherdust: Have you submitted an Error Report via the Samsung Members app? If so, please allow time for the team to get back to you with their findings. As the issue was present in the Front cam test, this does suggest that you're experiencing a hardware issue, and this would require an engineer's inspection to get to the root of the problem. If this is the case, it will be flagged in the Error Report response, and you will be provided with instructions on how to arrange an inspection.
