Samsung has always positioned itself as the leader in Android updates, promising faster, longer-lasting software support than its competitors. Yet, as of late February 2025, One UI 7 is still in beta testing, while other brands have already completed their Android 15 rollouts.
1️⃣ Google released stable Android 15 for Pixel devices in October 2024.
2️⃣ OnePlus completed its Android 15 rollout last month, with even its oldest eligible device, the OnePlus 10 Pro, received the update.
3️⃣ Xiaomi, Vivo, and OPPO pushed stable Android 15 updates to their flagships by January 2025.
4️⃣ Samsung is the only major manufacturer still in the beta phase as of February 2025.
5️⃣ Even Google has started early testing for Android 16, yet Samsung has not even finalized One UI 7.
How can the largest Android manufacturer in the world be so far behind the competition?
Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 series with One UI 7 in January 2025, yet:
Instead of delivering One UI 7 to existing users, Samsung has shifted focus to optimizing it for the S25 Ultra. Beta testers have confirmed that more bugs are being fixed for the S25 than for older models.
Samsung needs to communicate openly instead of keeping users in the dark.
Beta 4 of One UI 7 still lacks core Android 15 features, making the update feel incomplete.
🔴 What’s missing?
🔴 What’s still broken?
Samsung is taking longer than ever to finalize an update that is not even feature-complete.
Let’s compare:
Brand Update Speed Feature Completeness Communication
Google Pixel | ✅ Android 15 stable since Oct 2024 | ✅ All features included | ✅ Clear roadmap |
OnePlus | ✅ Finished Android 15 rollout (Jan 2025, OnePlus 10 Pro last in Italy) | ✅ Stock Android 15 features available | ✅ Transparent updates |
Samsung | ❌ Still in beta (Feb 2025) | ❌ Features missing/removed | ❌ No official timeline |
Samsung cannot claim to be a leader in software updates while lagging months behind smaller brands.
Samsung must immediately address the following issues:
✅ Provide a clear and official One UI 7 release timeline.
✅ Deliver a feature-complete Android 15 update without unnecessary removals.
✅ Stop prioritizing new devices over existing flagship users.
✅ Improve communication and transparency regarding delays.
At this point, Samsung users deserve answers. If competitors can roll out Android 15 on time, why is Samsung, the biggest Android manufacturer, still struggling?

Hello there @RMWasib
Look I totally understand and appreciate your viewpoint on this.
I reply to your thread as a long time user of Samsung phones and in my experience software and security patches have vastly improved over time.
Having a stable software update is paramount for me.
Security patches being vital.
Just my 2 cents.

Yet arguing about AI and you've seen the Google, but what about OnePlus, OPPO and Vivo?
