I thought I would let the group know my experiences with magsafe cases and accessories when used with the S24 Ultra.

Now I have tested multiple magsafe case's with my S24 Ultra, Pitaka, UAG, Spigen and several others. The cases on their own don't cause issues with the S Pen, it works fine without missing any lines etc.

However the problem starts once you start using magsafe accessories and attaching them to the back of the case. Again I have tried magsafe accessories from Scooche, Spigen, UAG, and many others including stands, wallets, wireless battery chargers (the portable one's) finger rings etc.

They all cause pretty bad effects on the S Pen, air commands lag or Don't work properly, the s pen refused to write near the camera area and near the centre of the screen. Selecting things with the S Pen lagged badly sometimes, so in conclusion if you use your S Pen then save money and don't buy magsafe cases or accessories.

I tested it with both accessories on and off the cases and when removed my S pen instantly started working. So if you insist on using and needing magsafe then just remove the accessories from the case and the S pen works fine.

Any questions please feel free to ask. The screenshots above popped up when trying to use my S Pen with a magsafe accessory attached. Let me know if this helped.

This UAG Monarch Pro case with magsafe built in is fine with the S Pen but attaching the UAG magsafe ring does effect the S Pen, removing it and the S Pen starts to work fully again. Not a big deal, happy enough to remove the Ring when using the spen but this magsafe ring is also a kickstand, phone stand and finger ring, the quality is exceptional. Appreciate the information, good to hear that most MagSafe cases don't interfere with the S Pen if only the case is attached.

Personally I'm intending on getting Peak Design's Everyday Case but it isn't available for S24 Ultra until mid-April. I'm pretty confident it will play well with the S Pen. Peak Design's S22 Ultra case did specifically mention that it was incompatible with the S Pen and that you would have to remove the case to use it, however it appears they fixed this with the S23 Ultra version as that one says it won't interfere with the S Pen.

I've always used Pitaka cases so far for Note 10+, S21 Ultra and my current S22 Ultra. After getting the S22 Ultra I was pretty excited when seeing the Peak Design cases announced as they have the unique hard locking feature, and a finger loop built in. I was then disappointed when they said it wouldn't work with the S Pen, and the loop versions were only available for the iPhone versions.

Actually, seeing Peak Design announce their S24 Ultra case that has the finger loop and is S Pen compatible is one of the main reasons I bought an S24 Ultra as the phone doesn't seem like much of an upgrade overall. Not gonna start using the phone out of the house until it's in a case though, will keep with the S22U until I get the case!

The only thing I may not like so much about Peak Design's case is that it's a bit bulkier. Not that big in general, especially considering all the features it has but having been spoilt with Pitaka's ultra-slim cases I'm wondering how much difference I'll notice. I always found Pitaka's cases didn't interfere with the S Pen although attaching a magnetic accessory sometimes tricks the phone into thinking the S Pen has been removed.

Having a built in finger loop in the case is one of the main draws for me and I don't see any other S24U MagSafe cases offering this. I've seen some with a circular kickstand that can be used as a grip but that doesn't look too comfortable to hold the phone with. Would be nice to see a kickstand in Peak Design's case but between a finger loop and kickstand I'll take the loop.

With my Pitaka S22U case I've used one of those silicone rubber loops that attaches on the inside of the case and loops around through the camera & USB-C cutouts. The magnetic attachment has been sufficiently strong that it still attaches to my desk and car mounts strongly enough even with the loop in between. With their S21U case sometimes it would fall off the car mount if I hit a big bump. Whilst those rubber loops have been very useful I'm worried that it could snap at any time...in fact the one I had on my S21U did snap but luckily not when I was relying on it to keep the phone secure. But just shows that I built in loop will be much more secure!

Ideally Samsung will implement their own magnetic mounting and charging in the future so there is guaranteed compatibility and the ability to use a much wider range of cases whilst still having magnetic mounting. I know you can get MagSafe sticker rings or even the more old school metal plates that rely only on the attraction of the car mount etc. but I don't really trust any of these to be as secure as a dedicated MagSafe compatible case.

Pitaka, Spigen and UAG have strong magnets, whichever brand you go with I would say go with that brands car holder. Pitaka is minimalist, Spigen is medium protection and UAG gives the best protection. I hope that helps.

Which one would you recommend out of the 3? I'm a driver so I'm on road long hours a day.

UAG will give the best protection but it costs more than the Spigen, Pitaka is nice but I would probably say that would be too minimal for you.

For such an expensive phone, I would not think to skim on money for the best protection. And so I went for the UAG. If, however, you want a slimmer profile and do not tend to accidentaly drop your phones, then Spigen and Pitaka will do.

I have gotten this message while using my S Pen it pops up with a little icon at the top of my screen as well. There are certain areas I can't write but I wrote most of this with my S Pen. I am not sure which UAG case I have but it is clear and direct from the site. I also have a popsocket accessory attached if take this off my S Pen works normal. The popsocket is also a direct buy from the company.  So as long as I take off the popsocket I have no issues. I have an S23 Ultra but plan on getting the S24 and continue getting the magsafe case when I do.
