Hi folks. I just registered so that I could ask this question:
How can I get DTMF tones when using the phone screen when dialing?
Right now, with Settings/Call alerts and ringtone/play sound for keyboard taps - ON ... there is a sound played when I tap a key, but no matter which digit is pushed it is the same tone rather than the expected DTMF tone.
And I get it... it is not critical in the dialing of a call in a 5G world to actually hear DTMF when pushing a number... it's just that I come from the telecom world and that is what I expect to hear when I "dial"... so I would like to hear that.
Is there an option to do this?
Thanks!

The Samsung Phone app does not appear to have that option, it also does not appear to be necessary.
Those times when I call a bank in the US and press 1 for this and 2 for that, I don't hear anything and yet magically, my choices are noted.
You could switch over and use the Google Phone app as your default dialer, that uses those tones.
Time marches on.

I have a samsung A34 5g and tried to use the number pad to put in my card details to purchase something...but the tones were the same and it didnt register so my choices wrent registered like yours. When I ask on line it tells me to go via the phone app settings and turn on DTFM...but I cant find anywhere to turn them on....
So do samasung not do DTFM tones....

Hi. I'm the person that did the first post.
My issues was that I did not HEAR a DTMF tone when I pressed a button on my phone (S24Ultra)... But i can tell you that my phone does DTMF tone fine with various automated systems.
There was a time on a previous Samsung phones when I did get the same issue as you: pressing a key to respond to an IVR, or enter an account number or password didn't register... but I found that ws more consistently with certain companies and the receiving system on THEIR end and not my phone.
If you google "samsung slow down DTMF tones" you will read other people that are experiencing this. However, sadly I don't have a solution to offer, but only the empathy that you are not alone, nor are you going crazy.
Good luck in your search.

-> Clavier de composition des numéros, puis trois petits points et "paramètres" puis "Alertes d'appel et sonnerie" et activer "emission son pour clavier"
Et c'est ok pour le DTMF 🤗

Just found a way to have it working in A55.
My phone is in portuguese so I will try translating:
Go to configuration using the gear when you swipe down.
Click Sounds and Vibrations
Click System Sound
Enable the option "Touch Interactions"
This made the A55 start responding with a sound for every tap in the screen but also made the DTMF work in a support system that was not understanding before this configuration.
I hope this helps in other models.
