I have just bought a S24 5G, and managed to assign specific notification sounds to different apps but now they have returned back to the system sound? Andy ideas?

@Juggler: I'm not too sure why this might have happened. Have you recently updated your Galaxy S24, or any of the affected apps? While I appreciate that this might not be ideal, you can re-assign the bespoke notification sounds by heading to Settings > Apps > Select an app > Notifications > Notification categories > Select a category > Sound > Choose from the available options. I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you.

I'm wondering 🤔 if the phone isn't liking the tone format your choosing if this is a downloaded tone @Juggler

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

> Notification categories is GONE! MISSING!
All you can do now is decide if you want a sound or not. There is NO customization for each app.
EVERY APP MAKES THE SAME SOUND!!! When a notification sound comes over the phone I have no way of knowing if it was my Blink app, Facebook or any other app.
Clever SAMSUNG if they want our phones glued to our hands and eyes, bad move for customer retention...
I'm going to explore my options for an Android phone that actually lets me customize it!

@MargeryRed: If you are unable to see the 'Notification categories' option in Settings > Apps, then please follow the steps below.
Settings > Notifications > Advanced settings > Manage notification categories for each app > On.
Now, head back to Settings > Apps > Select an app > Notifications > Notification categories > Select a category > Sound, and choose from the list of options.

Hi Andrew, I just got three new S24+ phones on a family trade in.
All of the native app sounds are now blocked to the phone default sounds. I did the notifications category change, but I still can't change any of the sounds by APP.
The apps keep asking me to reset permissions over and over again as well.
What am I doing wrong? Every app screen looks like this, with no option to change the sound.
