Hello,, I've just received my S24 Ultra and compared to my S21 Ultra the colours on the S24 Ultra are washed out and not as Saturated?, I've adjusted all the display settings and still cannot get the colours to match the older S21 Ultra, I've contact samsung uk customer service they went through Smart Tutor and couldn't find anything amiss has anyone else found this to be the same on their S24 ultra? I'm not sure if Samsung UK are aware of this issue? And whether a software update will solve it?, I suspect it's the new Gorilla glass amour glass which is anti-reflective which is great but not at the expense of colour, I'm seriously considering returning the S24 ultra and keeping my S21 Ultra

Do you have dark mode enabled at the night time?

I feel like the dark mode can be also responsible. But your speculation can be also something to consider.

I think they might tweak colors in next updates silently. And they don't want to accept that there is a problem with the display at this point to avoid damaging their reputation.

I hope they do that, and we can only wait to see what will happen.

It is also strange why the first update is taking this much time.  Samsung normally releases the first update even before the public release of the phone and they are usually big updates.

I am also using the phone and getting use to that. I didn't pay for it myself and got it from work, so I don't care that much. It is also pain to return and get a new phone and set up everything again.

dark theme and contrast > medium in dev mode

idk but i feel like the display got somewhat better - maybe is me adjusting or maybe something was done by samsung in the background and we dont know

once they roll this long awaited update i shall check and see if it differs

am using vivid mode but with the RGB sliders all the way to the left side (i had them middle initially and feel like left is better, tho yellow looks a bit orangy)

I got the most color out of the screen when sliding the RGB sliders all the way left, for Blue, Red, and Green.

Try that, it's still not as good as my S23 Ultra,  but it is better.

This basically clinches it. This person also thinks that it is a hardware issue that cannot be fixed through software updates.

Guys, there is no issue at all with color, it’s only a brightness issue.

Do the test : put a s23u and a s24u side by side, and any content with adaptative brightness.

Then while watching the video put a flashlight directly at the front camera of the phone and wait a bit. The brightness of the s24 go much higher and offers even better colors than the s23u.

The real issue is that manual maximum brightness has been limited, more than than the s23 manual brightness.

There is no washed out colors at all.

Outside of this test you can also reduce a bit s23u brightness and the colors will be the same.

I, along with other people have actually proven the washed out colors in previous pages. Maybe not everyone is having the issue but to say the issue does not exist, it's simply not true at all. Also, i have tried the flashlight trick and this did not yield the same result. Where i saw the S24U outshine my S23U was when setting both phones on adaptive brightness and then playing a 4K HDR video on youtube. For reference, this is the video i used. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXb3EKWsInQ&t=109s The S24U adjusted it's brightness to a much brighter display than the S23U. Unfortunately, there is no other way for me to get the S24U to be brighter than the S23U. The S24U was however a clear winner in blocking glare.
