Hey guys
So I charge my phones overnight on my Anker Soundcore Wakey.
On my Note 9, S22U and S23U I used the battery protect setting to limit charge to 85%. I also switch all fast charge settings off.
The equivalent setting on the S24U is maximum battery protection which tops out at 80% battery.
When I wake up and take the S24U off the charger it's always fairly warm, whereas the other phones would still be cool to the touch.
Anyone else finding this?
If I set Adaptive charging, the phone doesn't get warm.
Screen shots from Thermal Guardian showing two evening charges, the previous evening was on Adaptive where the phone stays cool and last night on Max Protection where the phone runs to the temp threshold. The same trace shows less CPU usage for the Max Protection charge as well so I'm not sure what's going on here?
@pauld0 If you are trying to charge your phone with a third-party adapter, this may be causing the phone to overheat. Please try charging with a Samsung official charger, and see if the issue still happens.
Hey AaronAJ - I don't have an official Samsung charger, but I'm wondering if the issue is my phone case. I opted for a Spigen Hybrid case with the MagSafe ring in the back this time whereas I had the non-MagSafe versions before so wondering is that's somehow an issue. I've got a non-MagSafe one on the way so will see if that makes a difference.
I had the phone on Adaptive overnight and it still got hot at one point so it's not the charging method of the phone in my opinion.
